Fight outside the Sky Hookah

11:42pm--#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Police were called to 689 Kings Hwy East outside the Sky Hookah Lounge where a large fight broke out.  This was the first weekend Fairfield Police did not monitor outside the establishment  in weeks to babysit.  Fairfield Police have had numerous headaches monitoring the after hours club.    A bill has been introduced by Rep. Brenda Kupchick, R-Fairfield, giving municipal police the ability to regulate the hours of hookah lounges, which are establishments where people can gather to smoke tobacco through a hookah, a type of waterpipe. Connecticut Job Numbers Fall By 5,700 In February

The number of jobs in Connecticut fell by 5,700 in February, according to the monthly jobs report released Thursday, although the state's job level is still in positive territory for the year.   Ed Deak, an economist who does forecasts of the Connecticut economy for the New England Economic Partnership, said the big swings in monthly data suggest it's not reliable.  But he said the big picture is clear: Connecticut is not adding jobs as quickly as the nation.  "We seem to be slogging along somewhere at 40 to 60 percent of the recovery of the U.S.," he said.  The Hartford Courant has the full story here.......

Man with a gun in a diner

1:39am--#Fairfield CT--Police are on the scene at Athena Diner‎, 3350 Post Rd for a patron who took out a handgun and placed it on his table freaking out patrons.  Police are questioning two men, checking their backgrounds, neither have warrants. UPDATE-- On March 29, 2013 at 1:41 am the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center    received a 911 call from a complainant at Athena Diner 3350 Post Road Southport, CT. Rahul Taylor, (D.O.B. 12/5/83) of 35 Treadwell Avenue, Westport, CT, was arrested and charged with three counts of Threatening 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Breach of Peace and Carrying a firearm under influence of alcohol/drugs after he was intoxicated inside the Athena Diner 3350 Post Road and displayed a loaded handgun which threatened…
