11:45am–#Trumbull CT–At approximately 11:45am Friday an off duty firefighter called 911 of a house with heavy smoke at 15 Sunnycrest Road. On arrival firefighters were met with heavy fire in the back of the deck as seen in this photo that was provided by a viewer. Firefighters were concerned with a propane tank which was removed.

The fire quickly spread throughout the house but firefighters quick work kept the fire from becoming a complete loss.

The house was empty at the time of the fire and the homeowner was distraught not only because of the fire but also the loss of her French bulldog Molly.

Two firefighters suffered non life threatening injuries battling the blaze.

The fire was brought under control within twenty minutes.

Firefighters from Monroe and Shelton provided mutual aid.

The fire marshal was on scene and began the investigation as to the cause of the fire.
