Westport News: Thieves Steal Boots and Get the Boot

#Westport CT--On 02/25/16, Westport Officers responded to The Stamford Police Department to take Andre Fowler into custody for an active arrest warrant held by Westport. On 01/19/16, two male suspects stole 3 pairs of boots while distracting store employees. The employees noticed the boots were missing after the suspects left the store, so they reviewed the in store video footage. Store employees notified the surrounding stores of the theft, and description of the suspects. On 01/21/16, two days after the Theory theft, store employees from J Crew called Theory advising that the same suspects were in their store (J Crew). Officers located the suspects, who were subsequently arrested for shoplifting from J Crew. Warrants were then obtained for the Theory thefts, and Fowler was arrested on 02/25/16, with…

Fairfield News: McKinley Students Pay Tribute To Workers in Mural

#Fairfield CT--For the 9th year in a row, McKinley has participated in paying tribute to American Workers, past, present, and future. Led by art teacher, Kathleen Reddy, and visiting artist, Ellen Griesedieck, this year’s class painted mini canvases, dividing the mural subject matter into small fragments.  The 79 participants will put the reassembled pieces together with some mounted out in front to simulate the 3-D aspect and spirit of the larger mural. This is a very special year for AMP having just successfully matched the Governor’s Challenge.  In May, the McKinley graduating class will visit the Winsted mill where the finished artwork will be installed.  This will likely be the last class to visit before construction begins this summer, raising…

State Police K-9 To Get Body Armor

#MIDDLETOWN CT – February 24, 2016) - Connecticut State Police’s K-9 Jesse will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Jesse’s vest is sponsored by MacKenzie Machine, Inc., of New Haven, CT, and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Keeping our dogs safe! In loving memory of BRP.” Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.  K9 Jesse has been assigned to Trooper First Class Scott Menard for the past 18 months and the K9 team is currently working at Troop H in Hartford.
