#Westport  CT– (February 4, 2016): State Troopers from Troop G-Bridgeport conducted a motor vehicle stop resulting in the arrest of two people for the possession of fraudulent credit cards and other charges. On February 3, 2016 at  approximately 2:08 a.m., Troopers were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on I-95 Southbound in the Fairfield/Westport exit 17 area when they observed a white 2015 Toyota Camry being operated erratically and failing to stay in its proper lane. Troopers initiated a motor vehicle where the operator initially stopped the vehicle in the left shoulder. Troopers were able to assist the operator in moving the vehicle to the right shoulder.

Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the occupants, troopers detected the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle where they located drug paraphernalia,

25 fraudulent credit cards (1 stolen), and numerous stolen gift cards from several retail stores, varying in dollar amount.

The operator, Jimmy Jeanty, and the passenger, Junior Elinor, were taken into custody and transported to Troop G where they were processed. Both Jeanty and Elinor were charged with:

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia     Credit Card Theft (26 counts)      Forgery 2nd Degree (25 counts)        Unlawful Reproduction of a Credit Card (25 counts)      Identity Theft 3rd Degree (25 counts)

Jeanty was also charged with two motor vehicle charges:

Failure to Maintain the Lane    Failure to Stop on the Right    Jeanty was held on a $10,000.00 cash/surety bond and Elinor was held on a $50,000.00 cash/surety bond. Both  were released after posting bond, and scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on 2/4/16.

Arrested #1: Jimmy Jeanty (dob 7/31/91)

Arrested #2: Junior Elinor (dob 12/31/95)

Both were from 1226 Remsen Ave. Brooklyn, NY
