12:50am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A busy overnight starting with this very large brush fire at Wood Grinding Unlimited at 10 Barnum Dyke. The fire was first spotted a security guard at Sikorsky Aircraft on South Avenue. He flagged down a police officer who then called it in get the fire department on scene. Firefighters were challenged to get water to the scene. The fire was in a 2,000 cubic feet area, no property was in danger. Attempts to get a hold of anyone at Wood Grinding Unlimited failed and the had to get a person from public works to come in to assist with a payloader or similar machine to move the brush around. The winds did not help the situation. Firefighters remained on scene past 3am.
