10:38am–#Fairfield CT–  Fairfield Police were dispatched to the “Cascades” at Lake Mohegan today.  In the past Fairfield has been plagued with swimmer swimming in no swimming locations.  The attached photo a no swimming sign now in the foreground with a flower memorial on the beach in the background for 10-year-old Catherine Perez Trujillo who drowned at that location July 17, 2012.

Lieutenant Rober Kalamaras of the Fairfield Police warns: “It is imperative that those enjoying Lake Mohegan Park refrain from swimming at the north end of the Lake “The Cascades”. This area is clearly posted “No swimming” because of a dangerous drop-off shortly after you enter the water. We encourage swimmers to use the south end of the lake where there is safety equipment and lifeguards on duty to assist if there were a swimmer in distress.”
