Bridgeport News: Police Investigate City’s 22nd Homicide

Police Update: The city's 22nd homicide occurred last night at about 1917 hours when two armed men came to the Just Right Cutz barbershop at 500 Park Avenue and started an altercation that left Deon Rodney (DOB: 2/19/85 of 479 Wood Ave) shot in the abdomen. Rodney was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, but did not survive. The motive for the shooting is still unknown and it is not clear if Rodney was the intended target. Norwalk News: Pot Bust

#Norwalk  News: On October 5, 2017 at 4:39 PM Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team (SNET) Officers were dispatched to the Courtyard Marriott located at 474 Main Avenue for a complaint. Hotel management reported a marijuana odor emanating from one of the rooms. Management wanted the occupants escorted from the premise. The officers contacted the occupants, Kevin Tobar-Castillo and JohanCifuentes, in the hallway outside of their room. Due to the heavy odor of marijuana, the officers requested consent to search the room. The men consented to a search of the room during which officers found loose marijuana strewn about the room, drug-packaging material and a large amount of cash. Westport News: Drug Take Back Day

#Westport-- On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the Westport Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will be participating in another nationwide “Drug Take Back Day” to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation's homes. Officers will be at the Westport Weston Health District, 180 Bayberry Lane, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so residents can bring expired, unused or unwanted prescription and over the counter medications for proper disposal. Needles/sharps will not be accepted. This national collaborative effort provides an opportunity for the public to surrender pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.
