His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Westport News: Check Theft From Mailbox

On 09/11/2018, a Tierney Lane resident reported a theft of mail from her mailbox. She was alerted to the theft after receiving a call from Patriot Bank advising two males attempted to cash one of her checks in the amount of $450. The check was made out to "Jermaine Smalls" and the victim’s signature had been forged. The check was cancelled by the bank because of the unrecognizable signature, resulting in no financial loss to the victim. It was one of 7 checks stolen from the victim and fraudulently deposited into various accounts. VA Hospital Rides

Director of Human and Social Services, Julie DeMarco, announces a partnership with the Trumbull Human Services Department and Greater Bridgeport Transit to provide monthly rides to Veterans to the West Haven VA Hospital. Targeted at veterans, the new service will begin on July 26, 2019. and continue on the last Friday of each month.   "We recognize that many veterans rely on the VA system for their healthcare but transportation can be challenging" according to Ms. DeMarco. "The bus will start at the Bigelow Center in Fairfield, travel up to the Trumbull Senior Center and go on to the VA Hospital in West Haven, and reverse the route on the return at the end of the day's appointments."   Registration…

Arriving companies found a pick-up truck in the roadway on fire. A fire hose line was stretched and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
