Bridgeport News: Man Shot
12:55am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A man shot just showed up at Bridgeport Hospital by private vehicle. The man was shot in the wrist and arm, not life threatening. He said it was a drive by at Pembroke and Jane Street.

I-95 Motorcyclist Down
11:43pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–A motorcyclist is down on I-95 southbound near exit 39A. EMS discovered the crash, other first responders on the way.

Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Hit Driver Flees

The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Investigation Team was called out to investigate a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle crash that occurred on June 25 at approximately 2113 hrs in front of 202-204 Arlington St.<x-apple-data-detectors://5> Gasper Esteves, 81 of Bridgeport was outside of his parked 2003 Ford Ranger when he was struck by a vehicle described as a white SUV travelling west on Arlington St near the intersection of Madison Terrace. The striking vehicle did not stop and is actively being sought by Bridgeport Police.
Mr. Esteves was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries including a skull fracture. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 0145 hrs June 26.
Anyone with any information regarding the crash and/or the responsible driver and vehicle is urged to call the Bridgeport Police at 203 576-TIPS (8477).
9:20pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A pedestrian was hit by a car in front of 365 Madison Terrace and the driver fled the scene.

Overnight Crash In Westport
Westport Firefighters responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at 485 Post Rd. East shortly after midnight. The car took down a telephone pole and burst into flames. The occupant was able to escape the vehicle and was uninjured. Multiple Engine companies and the Command Car responded to the totally engulfed car fire and acted quickly to extinguish the fire and avoid the power lines and pole from becoming further involved. The Post Road was closed for hours while Fire Department secured the scene, Police investigated and the Power Company restored power.

12:37pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–Two crashes reported almost at the same time. One at Huntington and Berkshire and also a crash on Route 8/25 near exit 3 reported.

Stratford Police Officer Hit By Car
2:35am–#Bridgeport Connecticut–#Stratford Connecticut– A Stratford Police Sergeant was hit by a car while on a manhunt in Bridgeport on Park Avenue near Herkimer Street. Stratford Police responded to 7 Woodend Road in Stratford where suspects attempted to break in to the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant. A pursuit ensued onto I-95 exiting at 27A where things were thrown out of the car by the suspects. They exited to Route 8/25 where they exited exit 2, again throwing items out of the car. State Police assisted in recovering the items.
The sergeant walked to the ambulance with EMS, was checked out and released. There was one person in handcuffs at the scene.
Police Activity On The Highway
2:11am–#cttraffic–#Bridgeport Connecticut–There will be police activity on I-95 near exit 27A and Route 8/25 exit 2 for evidence recovery. Stratford was in pursuit of a gray Hyundai responsible allegedly for robbery at the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant at 7 Woodend Road in Stratford. The suspects were seen throwing items out of the car at those exits. A manhunt for the suspects continue behind Central High School near North Avenue.
