1:00am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A viewer sent in this photo of an accident on Garfield Avenue near the TD Bank.  She said the driver that caused the crash fled on foot and the victim is okay.

 

10:10pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Another person accidentally shoots themselves.  They just showed up at Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle.  It is not known at this time where in the city this happened.

UPDATE: Police Press Release:  Keil Helenese age 32 of Bridgeport was arrested in Stratford on Sunday, July 3 rd for weapons related charges. Helenese was at a picnic on Quail Street when a firearm he was carrying fell out of the holster. Helenese re-holstered the weapon and negligently discharged one round from the weapon. The bullet struck him in the hip. He was treated and released from the hospital at which time he was arrested for charges listed below.

Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated          Unlawful Discharge                        Reckless Endangerment

Helenese is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on 07-14- 2016.

9:30pm–#Stratford Connecticut– A man on Quail Street accidentally shoots himself in the leg according to radio reports.  Police on scene, EMS on the way.

8:00pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A bicyclist has been hit by a white Mercedes at North and Main Street according to radio reports.

5:29pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–Odor of gas indoors throughout the building at 536 Hallett Street.  Here come a bunch of firetrucks!

2:35pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–The ice cream lady at William and East Washington Avenue was just robbed by three young youths according to radio reports.

6:40pm–#Westport Connecticut–The Westport Fire department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on the Merritt Parkway Southbound at exit 42. The initial dispatch was for Engine 6, Engine 2 and the Shift Commander. Engine 6 arrived first and reported a fully involved passenger vehicle fire in the breakdown lane. Engine 2 arrived shortly after and both companies worked to extinguish the fire and provide overhaul. One lane of travel was temporarily shut down during firefighting operations. Connecticut State Police assisted on scene with traffic control. The last Fire department unit cleared at 7:42PM.  (Westport Fire Department Press Release)
