Milford News: Woman Trapped In Machine At Schick

9:40pm–#Milford CT– A woman was trapped “inside a machine and her arm” at Schick Manufacturing at 10 Leighton Road according to radio reports.  The woman has been freed and transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been requested to the scene.

Bridgeport News: Homicide On The West Side

BRIDGEPORT POLICE UPDATE:

The victim from last night’s homicide has been identified as 43 year old Lawane Toles of 286 Sherman Ave in New Haven. Anyone with information regarding his murder is urged to call 203-576-TIPS.

 

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: Yesterday at about 21:22 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of  a body in the roadway at Railroad Ave near Norman Street. When they arrived, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Medics pronounce the victim dead at the scene. Detectives are working to confirm his identify. 9:22pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a homicide on Railroad Avenue near Norman Street.  The man was found face down, shot in the head.

On May 19th a man was shot in the leg around the corner at Wentfield Park.

Fairfield News: Organizing Your Digital Photos

This program is a follow-up to our popular photo organization presentation last fall. It will be held in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road on Saturday, June 17 at 1 pm.

In this session the emphasis will be on digital photo collections. Most people have hundreds or even thousands of digital pictures on their phones and devices. Learn how to curate, condense and edit them so they are easy to locate, appreciate and share. Walk away with an understanding of eve-changing technology and the inspiration to achieve your photo-organization goals. Methods and services that are available for storing digital images will be reviewed.

She is passionate about photo organization and is a member of APPO and NAPO-NY.  Advanced registration is required due to the limited space.  Don't leave your keys in your car.

Bridgeport Cracks Down On Illegal Dumping

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim, Bridgeport Police and Public Facilities came together today to  announce its victories against the War on Blight. Recently, a local man was caught red-handed illegally dumping nearly 50 tires on the side of the road off of Newfield Avenue. Days later, another individual was caught dumping a Jacuzzi in the same location. Both individuals were arrested, fined for their infraction and the vehicles used were seized by Bridgeport Police.Efforts to build awareness and follow thru with enforcement have led to the arrest of over six illegal dumpers with four vehicle seized to date.

 

“There is a coordinated effort of multiple departments from law enforcement to clean up,” said Mayor Ganim. “We are letting people know that violators of illegal dumping will get caught and pay the consequences. People of Bridgeport and our neighborhoods are entitled to a clean place to live.”

City Council member from the 139th District Eneida Martinez said, “We are not going to tolerant this! This is my district and it is unacceptable. I am glad of the initiatives the Mayor has in place to prevent and eliminate blight. Blighting our community is absolute disrespect.”

State regulations permit law enforcement agencies to seize assets and property used to commit crimes, including illegal dumping.   Those caught unlawfully disposing of garbage and other material are subject to a $200 fine pursuant to city ordinance and can be charged with a misdemeanor.

The City of Bridgeport has several components to support the community-wide initiatives to keep our city clean and eliminate blight. One of these initiatives includes the removal of dilapidated buildings around the city to make way for future developments. Another one of these programs includes the ‘Park City Pickin’ it Up’, where community volunteers band together to clean various sections throughout Bridgeport. Along with the City’s War on Blight/Illegal dumping, Bridgeport will also be unveiling the Adopt a Trash Can program, the Mayor’s Sidewalk PILOT Program and a lighting initiative to improve visibility and encourage safety.

Bridgeport police are also reminding the public that they are offering a $200 reward for anyone who contributes evidence that leads to an arrest for illegal dumping. The city is providing the following numbers to report such evidence: 203-576-8023 or 203-576-7976 and evidence can come in many forms, including a picture taken on a mobile phone and sent via text message.

Westport News: Cyber Tips Leads To Child Porn Arrest

#Westport, CT– In March 2016, the Westport Police Department received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a residence in Westport had uploaded child pornography. An investigation into the source led to the home of Daniel Krulewitch. A search warrant was executed on his home in April 2016 by the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau and the regional Technical Investigations Unit. Searches of the contents of his electronic devices revealed over 50 images of child pornography. In addition, investigators found an instant messenger software application that contained conversations with underage persons and attachments of images and “selfies”of nude underage persons in sexually explicit positions Archived screen shots of chat conversations between Krulewitch and these underage persons were also located.

On May 19, 2017, Daniel Krulewitch, 52, of Westport, CT turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. He was charged with 53a-196d Possession of Child Pornography 1 st Degree, 53-90 Enticing a Minor and 53-21 Risk of Injury. Krulewitch was released after posting $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 25, 2016.
