10:36pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police were called to McDonald’s at 1700 Park Avenue. The manager reported to police that there a group of teens inside throwing food and threatening the staff.

#Westport CT–In February, police were dispatched to a local medical office on a report of a fraudulent prescription. The investigating officer learned an employee registered a fictitious patient with the practice and created a prescription in that name. The employee, identified as Melba Witter, later called in a fraudulent prescription to a pharmacy in New York. The prescription was refused and as a result, was not filled. The officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Witter, which was later approved. On 06/29/18, Witter turned herself in at police headquarters on the active arrest warrant. She was charged with 53a-49/21a-108 Criminal Attempt to Illegally Obtain Prescription Legend Drugs and 53a-256 Computer Crime 5 th . Witter was released after posting $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 07/09/2018.

#Stratford CT–On 07-04-2018 Daemoni Brice of Stratford was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Manufacture-Distribution-Sales of Prescription Drugs, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in a Drug Factory Setting, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Simple Trespass and Theft of a Firearm. Brice was the passenger in a car and the stolen firearm was under his seat. The recovered firearm, a GLOCK 43 was reported stolen in the state of Georgia. Brice was held on a $75,000 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 07-13-2018.
The juvenile driver (17 year old)) was charged with Simple Trespass, Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Carrying a pistol without a Permit, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a Housing Project, Operating a Drug Factory and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A second firearm was found under his seat. The weapon, a loaded revolver and marijuana were found under the juvenile’s seat.
Investigators requested that the juvenile be remanded to custody based on the charges. The request was denied.
A third individual, Dashaun Mitchell was also arrested based on an active re-arrest warrant issued for him by the court.
The arrest stemmed from a stop/investigation of several individuals loitering on property belonging to the housing authority. None of the arrested individuals live within the housing complex. Members of the Narcotic Unit approached the suspects based on complaints made by residents and they recognized some of the individuals who had been previously warned not to loiter on the property.

The Stratford Police investigated a drowning incident on July 2 rd . During the incident a 5 year old child drowned in a pool located in the backyard of the family’s residence on Sunnybank Avenue.. Officers performed CPR on the child who was turned over to responding EMS personnel and transported to a local hospital. The child passed away on July 3 rd . The Stratford Police Department will respect the families privacy no further information will be provided.
10:00PMish—7/4—#Bridgeport CT– Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez said that the man who collapsed in the roadway on Barnum Avenue near Helen Street has died. Police identified him as Derek Franklin, 48 possibly collapsed from a medical condition and then was hit by a mini-van. The operator of the vehicle told investigators that she saw the good Samaritans but not the victim lying in the road. Police do not expect to charge her.
