Bridgeport News: Person Stabbed

On April 30, 2022 at approximately 9:50 pm, Bridgeport Police Officers responded to St. Vincent’s Hospital on the report of a person being treated there who was stabbed multiple times. The victim, a 39 year old Bridgeport man, was being treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds to the face, chest, and leg.
Police responded to St. Vincent’s Hospital and learned the victim had been stabbed in a parking lot within the confines of the Trumbull Gardens Apartment Complex. The assault occurred around 8:00 pm.
Bridgeport PD Detectives responded to the Hospital and Trumbull Avenue. A crime scene was located in a parking lot within the 400 block of Trumbull Avenue where evidence was collected.
The victim said he was socializing with his cousin earlier this evening when an unknown Black male walked over to them and began to argue with his cousin. The victim said he tried to intervene and verbally de-escalate the situation but was abruptly attacked by the man. The unknown black male stabbed the victim at least three times and then left the area on foot. The victim was then transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital via private vehicle.
