1:02am–#Bridgeport CT–Report of a truck hitting a utility pole on Capitol and Wood Avenue. Report of injuries.
On March 16, 2013 at 11:17 PM, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident with injuries and people trapped on the Merritt Parkway Northbound between exits 42 and 44. Fairfield’s Engine 5, Ladder 2 and Car 3 were dispatched to the location and were advised that the vehicle was
9:47pm–#Bridgeport CT–#ctfire–With Video Report—–A Bridgeport Police Detective was injured when his patrol car was hit while crossing Washington Ave. from Congress Street onto James Street. The civilian car that hit the police car started on fire and at times the flames were reaching the utility lines overhead according to police radio transmissions. Firefighters quickly extinguished
11:30ish–Firefighters were busy with crashes about the same time. A three car accident on Grasmere Avenue with no major injuries but there was a rollover on the Merritt Parkway near the Westport line. Westport fire department handled this call.
11:19pm–#Derby CT–Report of a possible electrical fire at 293 Elizabeth Street. Firefighters on scene reporting nothing seen from the street, going in to investigate.
