Westport News: Crash Into The River
2022-12-10@12:58am--#Westrport CT--The Westport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash with a car in the Saugatuck River and a person trapped. The fire department responded with 3 engines, a rescue truck, and the Shift Commander. Units arrived and found a single-car motor vehicle accident with the car coming to rest on its side in a creek adjacent to the Saugatuck River. The car was in approximately two feet of water. Firefighters wearing cold water rescue suits operated in the water and removed the lone occupant from the vehicle. Westport EMS responded to the scene and transported the patient to an area hospital with unknown injuries. Westport PD responded and provided traffic control.
Bridgeport News: Another Overnight Assault
2022-12-10@1:17am--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police received a call of a man in the 100 block of Terry Place suffering injured after an assault with a weapon (the weapon was not indicated). While police were on the scene the man became combative with EMS and police assisting him. One police officer was struck by the man, identified as as Huntley Jackson age 44 of Bridgeport, was detained on-scene and arrested for CGS 53a-167c Assault of Public Safety, Emergency Medical Personnel, Two (2) Counts CGS 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct, One (1) Count. Police arrived to investigate. One said someone jumped out of the bushes and assualted him near Jackson and Madison Avenue. The other victim had already left the hospital when police arrived. Bridgeport News: Person Shot
#Bridgeport CT--Thursday, December 8, 2022, at approximately 11:30 pm Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Tremont Avenue on a report of shots fired outside of this location. Citizens in the area describe hearing a dispute followed by 4-5 gunshots. Officers arrived on scene and discovered a crime scene in the roadway along Tremont Avenue. The crime scene was secured and area hospitals were canvassed for a victim. The initial search for a victim yielded negative results. Items were collected from the crime scene and submitted as evidence into the police property room.
