Fire on Gregory Street in Bridgeport
Shortly after 3pm Monday firefighters were called to a structure fire at 533 Gregory Street. Initial reports also said that pit bull puppies were on a second floor porch but the report turned up to be false. Fire officials suspect that copper thieves were trying to burn off the insulation off wires causing the blaze. The fire marshal was called to the scene to further investigate.
Fire at Saugatuck Congregational Church Westport
Reverend Howie Toback senior minister said there is no chance for the turkey dinner at the church this week, but Communications Liason Mary Ann West said the dinner that served over 350 last year will be held somewhere to be determined later. The church had thirty turkeys that were defrosting that were destroyed in the fire. Saugatuck Congregational Church is also famous for their Field Of Flags each Memorial Weekend.
Mutual aid firefighters did not leave the scene until after 2:30a.m. The Connecticut State Police Fire Marshal arrived on scene to begin their investigation to the cause of the fire.

7:35pm–Bridgeport–Car jacking occurred. Police are looking for a 1999 white Honda Accord CT plate # 114 YSU
5:01–Easton–5 injured in a head on collision at Route 59 and Maple Road head on collision. 3 from one car two from the other.
11:40am–New Haven– 1 dead 3 injured as U-Haul truck strikes tailgaters at Lot D near 81 Central avenue at the Yale/Harvard Game. Police confirm a 30-year-old Massachusetts woman was killed in the accident.
9:20pm–Hamden—Merritt Parkway Southbound in the tunnel one party was ejected from the vehicle, being rushed to Yale, not sounding too good.
Women brawl at youth football game
A Pop Warner football game between Hamden and Stratford (12- and 13-year-old players) Saturday night at the Old Dam Road field in Fairfield triggered a fight during a post-victory photo-op by Hamden. Read Full Article…..
Disgruntled Employee Foot Chase- Stunned on I-95 Fairfield
“A man believed to be a disgruntled employee of Whole Foods Market, who started trashing merchandise in the store Wednesday, was chased on foot by police onto Interstate 95 during heavy rush-hour traffic before being subdued by police using a stun gun.” Read full story….

6:31pm–#Fairfield–Sacred Heart University–Security trying to apprehend a black male and a black female as they were showing nude pictures to students and trying sell things and get credit card info from the students. The male is fleeing on Park Ave. on foot, police on the way.
5:40pm–#Bridgeport–Fire department on scene of Third Street and Connecticut Ave. with an outdoor odor of gas verified.
12:19pm–#Bridgeport #ctfire–Fire department on the way to 158 Frank Street for carbon monoxide poisoning. . Everyone is out of the house several residents already at the hospital being treated for CO poisoning.
Pepper Spray Released Inside Derby High School
A student released pepper spray inside a classroom at Derby High School at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters said. Read full story….
Half of 4th- and 8th-graders fail national test in reading and math
