Auto theft suspect rams Fairfield police cruiser

A Bridgeport man, chased by police early Christmas morning on suspicion of auto theft, faces charges in both Fairfield and Bridgeport. They broke off the pursuit on Stratfield Road in Fairfield, but the SUV was spotted a short time later by a Fairfield officer, where it had stopped at a red traffic light at Fairfield Woods Road and Melville Avenue.     Read full article……

Christmas Cheer Found Under A Viaduct

As families gather around their Christmas Trees Christmas morning about 250 gather under a viaduct on John Street in Bridgeport for their holiday cheer.    Ann Marie Tarinelli and a group called Under The Viaduct have been been e-mailing wish lists gathering gifts requested by those much less fortunate.  Ann Marie has been providing a meal once a month, she use to do it monthly but it go to be too much she said.   Some of these people need the basic of necessities we all take for granted, like socks, toothpaste a blanket,  even toilet paper.  If you would like to help Ann Marie you can call her at 203-268-5553  or drop off the basic needs at her home at 18 Country Lane in Trumbull.

Car Hits Hong Kong Spa in Bridgeport

Shortly after 1:30 Christmas morning a Jeep Cherokee struck Kay’s Hong Kong Spa located at 604 North Avenue. The vehicle appears to have been heading north when it crossed the median across the sidewalk striking the building at the corner and bounced back into the road. According to reports a 24 year old male was unrestrained and received head trauma from the windshield and was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital. It is uncertain if it was the driver but the damage is on the passengers side.

11:21pm–#Hamden police officer en route to a call at 75 Fairview involved in motor vehicle accident at Fairview and 2nd St.

7:16pm–#Seymour #ctfire Firefighters on the scene of a basement fire at Bellevue Terrace. Route 115 South Main Street congested with fire trucks.

6:20pm–#New Haven Police are looking for 2 males armed with a handgun pulled an armed robbery in the area of Elm and Sherman suspect wearing a tan jacket. They fled down Elm Street.

4:14pm–#Danbury #ctfire–Report of a structure fire at 35 Crosby Street, the old Iovinos shop.

Norwalk/Darien–A body has been found in the water at 800 Connecticut Ave. on the Norwalk/Darien border. We will update if we get any further details.

2:23am–#Branford–Lynwood Drive–Wife calls 911 states her husband was asleep on the couch and thinks he may have walk in the backyard into a pond. Sure enough that’s where he was. Fire department working on him and he should be ok.

2:11am–#New Haven #cttraffic–Report of car accident I-95 south near exit 48 I-91 split on Q-Bridge

1:38am–New Canaan–23 year old woman struck in the head has now regained conciseness in apartment above The Tuscan at 136 Main St. Police are investigating if it was an assault or accident.

1:11am–#Hamden–We have a report of a home invasion at Millrock Road by 2 black males wearing masks. One is armed pistol 1 armed with and automatic weapon. Both are wearing camouflage style clothing. We will update if we get any further reports.

12:51pm–#Southport–Fight at the Horseshoe Restaurant 355 Pequot Ave. Bouncers have dragged the fighter out into the parking lot. Police on the way. UPDATE–Sounded like they were getting “silver bracelets” for Christmas Eve but police called them cabs!

5:55pm–#Fairfield–Police on their way to Tahmore Drive for a verbal argument between a homeowner and the UPS driver.

Video-Mass. Firefighter Dies Battling Blaze

Firefighters responded to a raging three alarm fire on Hancock Street that broke out on the second floor around 1:30 in the afternoon. Pasdon said Rice went down soon after entering the building, when he was attended to immediately and rushed to Salem hospital, where he later died. Rice leaves behind a wife and three small children. Cupcake Deemed ‘Security Threat,’ Confiscated By TSA

BOSTON — A Peabody woman says a cupcake she tried to take on a flight with her sparked a potential security threat this week.Rebecca Hains says she was going through security at the airport in Las Vegas when a TSA agent pulled her aside and said the cupcake frosting was “gel-like” enough to constitute a security risk.

Two Fatal Car Crashes Last Night

Route 7 Connector was closed until 4:30 as police investigated this accident.

In two stories we reported live as it was happening to guide you around the traffic two men have lost their lives.

At 10:25pm we reported that a crash happened in New Canaan at Ponus Ridge Road and Lake Wind Road. Police on the scene  reported that one person was unconscious, it turned out to be the passenger of the car who was pronounced dead a the scene. There was mention of not being able to locate the driver and we weren’t certain if he was thrown from the vehicle or fled the scene. It turned out he fled the scene and was picked up by police at Stamford Hospital Emergency room the next morning. Police have identified him as Michael Savage, 37, of 119 Clearview Lane, New Canaan, no identity of the passenger has been released yet.

A short time later we reported emergency crews were called to the Route 7 connector near exit one for a pedestrian struck by a a motor vehicle at 12:42am. We quickly reported that the highway in both directions. Police have identified James Shaw, 21, of 10 Warren St., Norwalk as the pedestrian. He was rushed to Norwalk Hospital where he died of his injuries. It is uncertain why he was on the highway, he did not have a vehicle on the highway. The highway was closed until 4:30 this morning as police investigated.
