Woods End Deli is another gem I’ve passed by many times without stopping in. A client wanted to meet with me and she suggested having lunch here. It was like the “Who’s Who in Bridgeport”! So many notables in one place! It was also a lot like the TV show Cheers, all the staff knew each persons name!
Most importantly the food is ohhh soo good! Everything so fresh. I’m relatively new to Woods End Deli and look forward to learning more. They will be posting their daily specials helping us eat FRESHER than that big box sub sandwich chain!
Sexual Assault
10:30ish PM-#Bridgeport CT–#Black Rock CT–A Courtland Avenue resident reported to police she was raped/sexually assaulted by a know person. This post has been intentionally delayed in posting along with not posting the actual address.
Homicide in PT Barnum Housing UPDATE
12:49pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police are investigating a fatal shooting Sunday in the P.T. Barnum housing complex.
Police responded to the complex at 12:49 p.m. on a report of shots fired and a possible victim on the ground near Building 11.
Officers found Marquis Jacobs, 36, of Bridgeport, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are pursuing leads. Mr. Jacobs was the sixth homicide of 2013.
The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Division has commenced a homicide investigation and is in the process of determining a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Division, Lt. Chris Lamaine, at 203-581-5206<tel:203-581-5206>. All information will be kept confidential.
Fireworks not shots fired
9:17pm–#Fairfield CT–Police on the way to Galloping Hill Road for a report of shots fired but its fireworks because I’ve been hearing them for about 20 minutes now.

7:03pm–#Bridgeport CT– A man shot at a man on a bicycle in front of 175 Taft Avenue. No reports of anyone or anything hit.
Motorcyclist and car collide
7:00pm–#Ansonia CT–Motorcyclist and car collide at Ridge Avenue. Unknown injuries. First Responders on the way.
Naked man
2:02pm–#Fairfield CT–#nakedman–Fairfield Police are looking in the Commerce Drive/Halley Street area for a man in his early 30s running around naked. He took his shorts off in front of Connecticut School of Dance and pranced off behind the school.
Police Officer hit by a motorcycle
11:31pmm–#Bridgeport CT–Report of a Bridgeport Police Officer being hit by a motorcycle at the corner of State and Broad Street. The officer may have a broken leg.
