Mayor Q&A in The Hollow Scheduled

Mayor Finch will visit with residents of The Hollow neighborhood in his continuing series of Community Cabinet meetings on Monday, Aug. 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the cafeteria at Geraldine Johnson School, 475 Lexington Avenue. All Hollow residents are welcome to attend to hear from Mayor Finch about progress on City initiatives and projects. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Community Cabinet meetings are also planned in the following neighborhoods:

· North End on Sept. 12, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Discovery Interdistrict Magnet School, 4510 Park Avenue

· Brooklawn/St. Vincent’s on Sept. 26, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; location to be determined.

Community Cabinet meetings in other City neighborhoods will be announced soon. Check the City Calendar on the homepage of www.bridgeportct.gov for upcoming meetings and locations.

Kids in a rowboat getting pulled out from coast by tide in Fairfield

4:29pm–#Fairfield CT– Report of a 3 juveniles in a rowboat getting pulled away from the coast by the tide in the area of 2143 Fairfield Beach Road. Updates will come as the scene progresses. UPDATE– The boat has been located and does not appear to be in distress.

Monroe Car into a tree

12:55am–#Monroe CT–Report of a car into a tree with possible entrapment at 61 Israel Hill Road. First responders on the way!

State Trooper cut off, possibly injured

12:02am–#Branford CT–#cttraffic–A state trooper was cut off the highway and possibly injured on I-95 south near exit 54. The other driver did stop. Additional state police and EMS on the way.

10:28pm–#Stratford CT–#cttraffic–Merritt Parkway exit 52 car accident with injuries.

9:10am–#Bridgeport CT #cttraffic–I-95 southbound exit 27A is closed to traffic overnight for construction.

Robbery!

8:55pm–#Bridgeport CT–A robbery just occurred in the Wade Street area. I didn’t catch the details but a man with a black mask fled on foot down Wades Street. Be on the lookout if you live in the area.

Garage fire

7:53pm–#Bridgeport CT–Report of a garage fire at 278 Pasadena Place (off Huntington Turnpike). Firefighters reporting a light smoke condition and investigating.
