7:26pm–#Weston CT–A Bradley Road resident called firefighters that the tree in his backyard was hit by lightning. The tree exploded and the resident is concerned about the fire.

6:01pm–#Fairfield CT–Second ambulance sent to a crash at Black Rock Turnpike and Rock Ridge Road. Avoid the area if you can.

5:35pm–#Bridgeport CT–If traveling in Black Rock at Courtland Avenue and Gillman Street please avoid hitting the man lying in the road.

#Fairfield CT–Police are investigating two robberies that occurred minutes apart from each other. The first occurred at around 4pm at the Bank Of America at 1320 Kings Highway Cutoff near the circle. About 30 minutes later the Chase Bank on Grasmere Avenue across from Whole Foods was robbed. Police believe it is the same man for both locations and that it may be connected to a string of robberies in Greenwich. Police are looking Hispanic male 5’6”, he wore a blue shirt at Bank of America robbery and red shirt at the Chase robbery. In both robberies a note was given, no weapon was ever shown.  Officers were briefly searching for the suspect on the railroad tracks and Metro North stopped the trains for a short period of time.

11:44pm–#Bridgeport CT– Report of a motor vehicle accident at Old Town Road and Campbell Avenue.

(Bridgeport, CT – Sep 9, 2013) – An 84-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with sexually assaulting a child.

Bridgeport Detective Eric King learned that Joseph Livramento, who most recently lived in Cape Verde off the coast of Africa, had returned to Connecticut and had a scheduled appointment at a doctor’s office. He was arrested there Thursday when he arrived at his appointment.

Livramento was wanted on a 2007 arrest warrant in connection with the sexual assault of a young relative, who at the time was warrant was 12 years old.

The warrant was secured by Detective Warren Del Monte, who passed away in 2011. Livramento was held on $350,000 bond.

“Warren was the consummate professional and he took his job personally,” said Capt. James Viadero, who heads the detective division.  “I know he would be happy that he could bring justice to this victim.”

Based on accounts from the victim, Livramento assaulted the girl over numerous years both at her home in Bridgeport and during family trips to Cape Verde.

Livramento faces charges of first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
