2:50am–#Bridgeport CT–A car crash into a tree at 799 Lincoln Avenue.  Driver has left the scene….probably to call the Geico gecko or pig…..right?

11:59pm–#Monroe CT–Report of a car crashing into a tree on Hammertown Road.  First responders on the way.

7:12pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police responded to the 100 block of Catherine Street for a man with a m machete trying to break in to an apartment.

7:11pm–#Fairfield CT–Tonight’s car fire is on the Merritt Parkway southbound between 44 and 42.  It is in the right lane.

5:33pm–#Derby CT–Firefighters are on scene at 225 Caroline Street for an indoor odor of gas.  They believe it is coming from the dryer and they are checking it out.

CTWorks Career Coach in Westport on Oct. 10Human Services Director Barbara Butler announced today that the CTWorks Career Coach will return to Westport Town Hall on Thursday, Oct. 10.

 The Coach will be offering a beginner’s class in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in PowerPoint 2007 from 1-3 p.m.  Contact the Westport Department of Human Services for specific course description information.

 The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with 10 wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities.

4:24pm–#Bridgeport CT– Report of smoke on the second floor of 695 Broadbridge avenue. UPDATE– food on the stove

(Bridgeport, CT – Sept 25, 2013) – Police have arrested a man wanted for a weekend shooting on Clarence Street.

Officers Anthony Caiazzo and Keith Hanson  conducted a motor vehicle stop Monday evening in the area of Arctic and Helen streets. Both officers immediately recognized the passenger, Ernest Morales, 22, of 42 Clarence Street, as the shooting suspect. Officers during roll call at the start of their shift had been shown a picture of him.

Morales complied when police told him to step out of the car and stated that he “was just going to turn myself in.”

Morales was wanted for shooting a neighbor on Sunday night.

The victim, identified as Joseph Vernon, 31, was found by police at 54 Clarence St. suffering from a gunshot wound to the left cheek Sunday.

He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect is a neighbor of the victim. Detectives learned that the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots inside the home. Vernon was struck at least once.

Morales was held on $500,000 bond on charges of first-degree assault and criminal attempt at first-degree assault.
