2nd murder arrest made
On 1/11/2014 members of the Detective Division, Fugitive Task Force, and Patrol arrested Davonte Gray-Brown, 2/13/1992, of 1022 Hancock Ave. Gray-Brown was located in the rear of an apartment building located at 1755 Stratford Ave after officers had checked several locations for him. Brown-Gray was charged with Felony Murder, Criminal Possession of a Pistol or Revolver, and Carrying a Pistol Without a permit, and is being detained on a $1,000.000.00 Bond, the warrant was obtained by Detective Paul Ortiz.
Gray-Brown’s charges stem from the murder of Dewayne Gardner, the 13th occurred on 12/16/2013. The investigation is still ongoing; this was the second arrest in the homicide investigation.

Police break up large fight
12:11am–#Bridgeport CT–Police break up a large fight outside Scruples on North Avenue. Bottles and bats were the weapons of choice. UPDATE–Shell casings found by police on scene, confirming the initial report of shots fired.
Strong Odor of gas Bridgeport Towers
8:40pm–#Bridgeport CT–Mutliple calls for a strong odor of gas at 199 Yacht Street, Bridgeport Towers from the 4th to the 7th floor. Firefighters on the way.
Harding High School to become Obama High School?
#Bridgeport CT–Connie Johnson posted to community leaders a discussion of changing the name of Harding High School in Bridgeport to Obama High School. In her post on Facebook she wrote:

4:30pm–#Bridgeport CT–Food burning on the stove extended to other parts of the kitchen at an apartment at 730 Palisade Avenue. Firefighters quickly extinguish the fire.
