4:55pm–#Stratford CT–#nakedman–A report of naked male screaming outside of 680 Barnum Avenue. Another male threw the man into a white Honda Civic and sped off.

Milford man burned
#Milford CT–An employee of City Carting on Old Gate Road is recovering from burns he received over sixty percent of his body. The 18 year old man was standing near a 55 gallon drum which for unknown reasons had a fire burning in it. Milford officials said a flammable liquid used to start the fire raged out of control burning the man. Coworkers got the man to the ground, pulled his burning clothes off and extinguished the fire. The incident took place Tuesday around 11am and the victim is recovering in Bridgeport Hospital with second degree burns on sixty percent of his body. His name has not be released.
Fairfield School Bus Breaks Down
3:42pm–#Fairfield CT–If you child is late home from school its possible they are on the bus that just broke down in front of 750 Knapps Highway. A mechanic is on the way according to police radio reports.

3:33pm–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters on Brooks Street near Barnum Avenue reporting a water main break.
Fire truck involved in crash on the way to a fire
#Bridgeport CT–Shortly after noon, the Fire Department did respond to a structure fire in an occupied home at 97 White St. The fire department responded and quickly extinguished the fire, which was inside the walls of the home. While responding, Ladder 6 was involved in a motor vehicle accident involved a car at the intersection of Barnum and Central. One firefighter was taken for observation to the Immediate Health Care clinic, an walk-in clinic run by Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. The fire truck sustained minor damage.
The driver of the other vehicle declined medical treatment.
The Red Cross responded to assist displaced residents, three adults and one child.

Bridgeport tree pick up
#BRIDGEPORT, CT–January 8, 2014– Mayor Bill Finch today announced that the City’s Roadway Maintenance crews will begin picking up Christmas trees on Monday, January 13. The pickup will continue through Monday, January 20.
Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb and free of all ornaments and plastic bags. Trees with ornaments or wrapped in plastic will not be picked up.
Trees may also be disposed of at the City of Bridgeport’s Transfer Station at 475 Asylum Street. Christmas trees brought to the Transfer Station must also be free of all ornaments and plastic bags prior to disposal. Transfer Station’s winter hours are 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday (closed for lunch from Noon – 12:45 p.m.) and 7 a.m. to Noon on Saturday.

Firetruck in accident responding to call
12:32pm–#Bridgeport CT–Ladder 6 was involved in a crash on Barnum Avenue while responding to a call on White Street. The truck was hit at Central Avenue and Barnum Avenue. Unknown injuries. Firefighters are on scene at 97 White Street laying into a boiler room fire. We initially misheard the call to be on Wade Street which was inaccurate. UPDATE–Fire knocked down. Firefighters request fire marshal to the scene to investigate and Red Cross to relocate those living there. No reported injuries from the accident involving Ladder 6.

Police pursuit terminated
12:22am–#Milford CT–Police terminated a pursuit on Route 1 near Lowe’s on Old Gate Lane when speeds exceeded 80mph and the car being pursued was blowing red lights and driving recklessly.
Smoke from the custodian’s office
7:11pm–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters dispatched to 695 Park Avenue the Elanor Apartments for heavy smoke coming from the custodian office. Firefighters on scene–Turns out to be a steam pipe. Well now you know the reason for all the noise!
