Man Arrested on Domestic Assault Warrant

#Bridgeport, CT – Jan. 31, 2014  – A city man was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with a felony domestic violence warrant.

Officer Christopher Martin responded to a Holly Street address on Wednesday on a report that a man, Sammy Hill, 39, was attempting to assault a relative. On scene, police determined that Hill also had a felony domestic violence warrant. Hill had fled the scene and police checked several locations but could not locate him.

Police were called back Thursday on information that he had returned. Martin, Officer Paul Nikola and Lts. John Cummings and Kevin Gilleran, among others, responded. They were provided with information that he might have a gun and that he had substance abuse tendencies.

Again, Hill had already left the scene.

Police then were called a third time and were told that he was inside the house. Police searched the house and repeatedly instructed Hill to surrender. He also was warned that a Police K9 was on scene.

They received no response.

The K9 apprehended Hill inside what was a locked room. He surrendered without further incident.

He was charged by warrant with second-degree threatening and second-degree assault. He also faces on-site charges.
