11:52pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police called to St. Vincent’s Hospital that a 10-22 a person assaulted with a weapon drove himself to the hospital and a weapon is inside the car. I doubt they would be this concerned over a knife. If I get any updates I of course will let you know. Car is now taped off according to radio reports.

9:59am–#Fairfield CT–Fairfield Firefighters responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injury involving a large truck on I-95 NB near the Exit 23 off ramp. Lt. Patrick Barry arrived on scene and reported the driver trapped and unresponsive inside the cab of a roll-off trailer truck. The truck collided with the Kings Hwy overpass, causing damage to the bridge, prior to striking the guard rail and coming to rest on its drivers side. Fairfield Engines 1, 2, 4, and 4, Ladders 1 and 2, Cars 1,2,3 and 5 responded to the scene. Fairfield Police, State Police, State DEEP, State DOT, and CTR (Connecticut Tank Recovery) responded. Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment to remove the roof of the tractor trailer cab, cut back the guard rail, and access the driver who was taken by AMR ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital. The driver’s condition was extremely critical. According to Asst. Chief George Gomola, the incident commander – “Fairfield Firefighters did an amazing job of removing the driver from the wreckage in a safe and timely manner. I have never seen steel guard rail wrapped around inside a vehicle like it had in this incident. This was a very difficult extrication that resolved quite quickly due to high level of training and professionalism demonstrated by our firefighters.” The last fire unit left the scene at 1240 hrs. Mutual aid units from Bridgeport and Westport assisted with station coverage and incident response in Fairfield during the incident. Traffic was slowed on I-95 for approximately 2 hrs and the roadway on the Kings Hwy overpass was reduced to a single lane awaiting inspection from State DOT Inspectors to examine damage to bridge. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police. Chief Richard Felner, DC Kyran Dunn, and Safety Officer AC Chris Tracy were on scene. #Westport CT– On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at approximately 4:45pm, Westport Police Officer Kevin Smith stopped a vehicle on Post Road East near the Fairfield Town line. Officer Smith detected a strong odor of Marijuana in the vehicle so a K9 was requested to the scene. Officer Smith and K9 Officer Wells from Fairfield Police located two mason jars in the vehicle containing a substance known as DAB, or HONEY OIL. This oil is a high concentration of THC, the chemical responsible for the psychological effects of marijuana. The total weight of the oil was nearly 400 grams, with an estimated street value of over $30,000.00. The operator, identified as Ceslo Valle, was arrested without incident. He has a court date at Norwalk Superior Court on 04/13/15 and is being held on a $2,500.00 bond.
