Bridgeport News: Manhunt

10:02pm–#Bridgeport CT– A perimeter has been set up in the Catherine Street area after a foot pursuit with police.  No mention was made as to why he was being chased, they rarely do say why unless it is a motor vehicle pursuit.  But now you know why there are so many cops in the area.  State Police K-9 is assisting Bridgeport Police.

Fairfield News: Senior Citizen Attacked By A Cat

5:12pm–‪#‎Fairfield‬ CT–A 72 year old woman called 911 that she was attacked by a cat and was bleeding heavily on her legs at the Strathmoor Condo at 160 Fairfield Woods. When police and firefighters arrived they discovered the cat that attacked her was her own. The cat sees another cat outside the window and goes wild and attacked the woman. The woman refused transport to the hospital but was treated and bandaged by EMS technicians by AMR. Animal Control was called to the scene to take care of the cat.

Una mujer de 72 años llamó al 911 que fue atacado por un gato y estaba sangrando en gran medida de sus piernas en el Strathmoor Condo en 160 Fairfield Woods. Video Report: Horses in Trumbull Gardens

Last week  Tatiana Julitta Maldonado shared on my Facebook wall a picture of the Bridgeport Police’s Mounted Patrol at Trumbull Gardens.  After 267 Likes and 28 Shares it indicated to me that you wanted to know more, so did I!  Most have seen the mounted patrol at events like at Harbor Yard Arena.  For years the mounted patrol has been patrolling a number of areas of the city including routinely visiting various housing projects throughout the city.  Sergeant Norton told me the horses are a way of breaking the ice and make police more approachable unlike a police patrol car.  People come up and ask to pet the horses and then engage the officers in conversation.  Officer Norton also said they are a ten foot cop while on horseback and it is possible they prevent  crime before it even happens.  Its a great public relations and a big hit with the children.  They knew the horses by name when I was there.

Bridgeport News: Another Store Robbed

2:09pm–#Bridgeport CT–The Rodriguez Market at 382 Brooks Street was robbed at gunpoint.  Taken was an iPad and $70 in cash.  Police are looking for a black male in his 30’s wearing all black and a black hat.  His shirt has some stains, possibly paint stains.  He fled west on Ogden Street.

1:39pm–#Bridgeport CT–The Subway at 1552 Wood Avenue was just robbed at gunpoint.  Police are looking for a skinny black male wearing a black button down shirt, black and white sneakers and a black hat with a gold medallion.  He fled on foot.

Fairfield News: Towel Fire

11:33am–#Fairfield CT– An elderly resident was removed from her residence and required medical attention after a towel in her home catches fire at 128 Lindley Drive.  Police were on scene and made sure the towel was extinguished.  Firefighters assist in clearing smoke from the residence.

3:06am—The Dunkin Doughnuts on the Merritt Parkway southbound  near exit 46 was just robbed by a light skinned male  wearing all black.  No weapons were displayed by it was implied.

Bridgeport News: Electrical Issue No Fire

1:29am–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters were called to 243 High Ridge Drive for a structure fire which was flames seen near the electrical connection at the house.  There was no fire on firefighters arrival.  UI and fire marshal has been requested to the scene.
