#Bridgeport CT–Yesterday the Make-A-Wish Foundation along with the Bridgeport Police Department granted Karla Hernandez’s wish of being a Bridgeport Police officer for the day, Chief Gaudette stepped aside and promoted her to police chief for the day.
The celebration started at Bridgeport Police Headquarterswhere Karla will was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Bill Finch and the Bridgeport Police Department.
Karla was then escorted to the to the Bridgeport Police Horse stables at Seaside Park where she met with Sgt. Norton and the horses. She also rode a ATV and police car around Seaside Park. She then went to Arthur’s Famous Pizza on Park Avenue where they enjoyed a pizza party. The Make A Wish Foundation then presented her with her second wish to go to Disney World.

1:30is–#Bridgeport CT–Just after 1:30am Thursday morning firefighters responded to a car fire on North Avenue near Carlton Avenue (just past Freedom Fuels). The car appeared to be in an accident hitting another car and was fully engulfed in flames when I arrived. Police said the operator of the car had enough time to remove the plates before fleeing the scene.
Bridgeport, Conn. (August 5, 2015) – This week, Bridgeport Police responded to a robbery with a firearm at 132 Arthur Street. Police arrived at the scene on Monday morning at 4:44 a.m. The victim – a 25 year-old female from Stratford – stated that she was dropping her son off at her mother’s house. After pulling into the driveway, the suspect came up to the driver’s side door and demanded the victim give up her purse. The victim gave up her purse and the suspect fled the scene. The victim’s purse and items within were later recovered – except for approximately $60 in cash. The suspect was described as a 5’9” black male wearing a black mask, a black sweater, and black sweatpants. Bridgeport Police are asking the public to contact them with any information regarding this incident at 203-576-1311.
