Extensive Fuel Leak I-95

#cttraffic–#Milford CT–Firefighters on the scene of an extensive fuel leak on I-95 from exit 32 to Bridgeport Avenue to Baker Street on Milford Roadways.  Guesstimates are about 30 gallons, with 10 gallons going into a storm drain.  DOT with a sand truck requested as well as Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Fairfield News: Shopping Cart Attended Injured

3:14pm–First responders attend to a shopping cart attended at Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue who was struck by a BMW that fled the scene.  A witness did get a plate number which came back to a BMW who’s registration had expired.   Police are investigating.  The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

Fairfield News: No Means No. Sexual Assault at Sacred Heart

#Fairfield CT– #sacredheart–Frank Anthony Sapienza (DOB 07/03/96) was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault 4th degree (53a- 73a) after a female victim reported unwanted sexual contact by kissing and groping her, after she allegedly told him to stop multiple times.

 

Victim #1 contacted Sacred Heart University Public Safety to report that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male (Later identified as Frank Anthony Sapienza 07/03/96) who was dressed in a police officer Halloween costume at 5151 Park Avenue (Sacred Heart University).  The suspect, Frank Anthony Sapienza also admitted that he did not stop immediately after he was asked to do so by Victim #1. Unknown if the victim attends the school. Based on Sapienza admitting to not stopping when Victim #1 told him to and statements from multiple witnesses on scene corroborating Victim#1’s account of the incident, Sapienza was placed under arrest for violating C.G.S 53a-73a: Sexual Assault 4th degree. Sapienza was initially held on a 1,000.00 dollar bond, but was released this morning after posting bond.

#Bridgeport, Conn. (October 29, 2015 Police Press Release) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect, Jesse DaCosta (DOB: 07/28/76), connected to a recent burglary incident at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4070 Park Ave.).  DNA evidence puts Mr. DaCosta at the scene of the crime. On Tuesday, October 27 at around 1:45 p.m., Mr. DaCosta turned himself in at Bridgeport Police Headquarters.  DaCosta has been charged with burglary, larceny, and criminal mischief.

 

Background: On May 31, 2015 at around 9:15 a.m., police officers responded to a call about a burglary at the office of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 4070 Park Ave. Upon arrival, police officers were informed that $8,300 in cash, a $800 computer tower, and $1,700 in surveillance equipment were taken. Church officials reported that the church held an annual church fair to raise money the night before.  Detective Hoben and Detective Heanue determined that the suspect had gained access to the church’s management office from a second story air conditioner. Detectives surveyed the crime scene, interviewed witnesses, and swabbed areas of interest for fingerprints in order to turn up DNA evidence.

Bridgeport Police Department Arrests Man for Striking Police Vehicles

#Bridgeport, Conn. (October 27, 2015 Police Press Release) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department reported the arrest of a man, Anthony Cameron (12/20/89), on several charges related to evading police, striking two marked police vehicles, recklessly endangering his wife and child, and possessing marijuana.  Bond has been set at $50,000.More specifically, Cameron was charged with: risk of injury, reckless endangerment, interfering with police, reckless driving, engaging in police pursuit, operation under suspension, evading responsibility, no insurance operator, wrong way on a one way, and possession of marijuana.

 

Background: On Monday, October 26,, 2015 at around 11:30 a.m., a Bridgeport Police detective came upon a motor vehicle accident in front of 172 Golden Hill St.  A gray 1999 Mercedes struck the left rear bumper of a parked blue 2002 Mitsubishi Montero on Golden Hill St.  During the investigation the Mercedes fled the scene as the detective was notifying dispatch of the accident.  The detective pursued the fleeing suspect attempting to stop the Mercedes by activating the vehicle’s emergency lights and sirens.  Approximately ten minutes later on Greene Homes Dr. near the corner of Washington Ave. the Mercedes struck a marked police vehicle on the passenger side.  After striking the police vehicle the Mercedes continued about another thirty feet and struck a second marked police vehicle on Washington Ave. near the corner of Greene Homes Dr.  The driver of the Mercedes, later identified as Anthony Cameron, then engaged several police officers in a pursuit from his disabled vehicle.  As Cameron ran around the outer perimeter of Green Homes Building #5 towards Highland Ave. he took off his jacket and left it on the ground.  The jacket was secured by a police officer and contained sixteen dollars and 6.4 grams of marijuana.  Cameron continued to run to the front of Building #5 and then west towards Building #3 where he was detained by a pursuing police officer.  Cameron was transported to Bridgeport Hospital complaining of asthma.

 

After being medically cleared from the hospital, Cameron was brought to Bridgeport Police Department and processed.  The Mercedes had two other occupants inside the vehicle. One was Cameron’s wife, Nicker Brown-Cameron, and the other was Cameron’s two month old baby.  Brown-Cameron was checked for warrants and was found to have a warrant for the Stratford Police Department. Brown-Cameron was transported to the Bridgeport Police Department to be picked up by the Stratford Police Department.  The two month old baby was handed over to a family member.  The officer driving the police vehicle that was initially struck was shook up but sustained no serious injuries.
