9:27pm–#Bridgeport CT– A pizza delivery driver was able to avoid an armed robbery on Williston Avenue. A couple of young teens pulled out firearms but the driver was able to speed off.

6:00pm–#Fairfield CT– A person jumped up on the back deck and attempted to get in the back door, then fled when they could not get in according to my mother-in-law on Catherine Terrace. Police are investigating.

9:34pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a call for shots fired at Greene Homes on the Highland Avenue side. At 9:53pm police receive a call that a person walked into the emergency room shot in the thigh.

Local Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee Comes to the Aid of Bridgeport Family with A Surprise Second Christmas
#Bridgeport CT–When the franchisee of former Dunkin’ Donuts manager Vanessa Padilla learned that she and her three children were homeless, without any possessions including the family car, and had lost every single Christmas gift in a fire that decimated her Bridgeport condo on New Year’s Eve, they sprung to action. D’Andrea Group Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees Francesco and Frank D’Andrea of Guilford and Nicole Ball of Branford, decided to make Christmas come again with a surprise visit from Santa for Padilla and her sons, Tony Dejesus, 6, Kevin Moales, 12 and Khary Glover, 16.
In addition to replacing electronics and toys for the boys, which included two gaming systems and a MacBook Pro, Santa also returned the 6-year-old’s Elf on a Shelf, Spike, who was “rescued” by the Bridgeport Fire Department after the blaze. Spike was made an official fire chief by Santa and came dressed in full gear.
On Sunday, Jan. 3, at the Holiday Inn in downtown Bridgeport where the Redcross had placed the Padilla family in temporary housing, Santa delivered all the best gifts and Christmas memories for the Padilla Family:
The eldest Khary Glover received a MacBook Pro
Kevin Moales received basketball gear and a Sony PS4 game system.
To keep the Christmas spirit alive for the youngest, Tony Dejesus, Santa delivered a bike, some WWE wrestlers, a wrestling ring and an XboxOne.
The Padilla family, sisters Aiesha Padilla, general manager, Nakisha Padilla, manager and Vanessa Padilla, former manager, have worked for D’Andrea Group Dunkin’ Donuts franchises since high school-age. Vanessa’s son, Khary, 16, has just started his first job at the D’Andrea Group’s Dunkin’ Donuts in Milford on Clarke Street in June.
D’Andrea Group, based in Guilford, is the franchisee of 13 Dunkin’ Donuts in Clinton, Killingworth, Guilford, West Haven, Orange and Milford.

Bridgeport News: Baby Dies In Condo Fire
UPDATE: Bridgeport Spokesperson Av Harris confirmed that a three year old girl who was found under her crib/bed on the second floor was found dead. Fire officials say Sincere Pettway, 3, died in the fire and her mother, Shaneese Pettway, 26, waere hospitalized, along with three other children — Alaia Brandon, 1, Egypt Medina, 2, and Terrell Belle, 7, — and Brandon’s mother, Chakierah Booker, 20, to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. Chief Rooney says that the smoke detectors were disconnected in the condo and the fire did start in the kitchen and spread to the second floor where everyone slept.
3:24am–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters were called to the condos at 715 Frenchtown Road for a structure fire. When they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the kitchen area. An infant was pulled from the condo and rushed to Bridgeport Hospital for burns. Although not confirmed by officials the radio traffic was not positive and Fire Chief Rooney was on scene to investigate. Please keep the family in your prayers.
