#Westport CT– On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Westport Police Officers responded to 385 Post Rd. E. (Wireless Zone) on a report that two males were in the store attempting to open accounts using fraudulent identifications. The complainant advised that once they began to question the authenticity of the identifying documents (out of state driver’s license), the two suspects quickly exited the store. Officers responded to Verizon to begin the investigation, while other Officers began checking the area for the suspects. An Officer at the store broadcasted a vehicle description and license plate of a car that the men were seen leaving in. Officer Shawn Sember was in the area of Post Rd. E. and Sherwood Island Connector when he observed the vehicle turning southbound onto the Sherwood Island Connector. He then pursued the vehicle as it continued westbound. Officer Perez arrived at Compo Rd. S. and Greens Farms Rd. ahead of the pursuit and deployed stop sticks.
