Lost Restaurants of Fairfield

#Fairfield, CT– Walk down memory lane at the Fairfield Public Library with author Patti Woods as she presents her book “Lost Restaurants of Fairfield”. She will be part of the What’s Cooking Series at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road, on Monday, March 28 at 7 pm.

In this nostalgic book, Patti describes the bygone eateries and watering holes in Fairfield. Discover lost classics from the Sun Tavern, where George Washington visited, to the Scenario, where local celebrities had a seat reserved at the bar. Remember the doughnuts at Devore’s, Art Green’s famous cream pies at the Pie Plate, ice cold beer at the Driftwood…?

Ms Woods is a native of Fairfield. She began her career with the Fairfield and Westport Minuteman newspapers and was a managing editor of Better Nutrition. As a freelancer her work has appeared in Health, Wine Spectator and Delicious Living. Currently she writes the popular EatDrinkShopCook column that appears in the Fairfield Citizen and Westport News. Advanced registration is required due to the limited space. All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free of charge. For more information and to register for this event call 203-256-3160, or visit us on the web www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org .
