Bridgeport Snow Emergency

Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport Snow Emergency is still in effect today, February 12, 2017 to allow for continued citywide snow clean up and plow service for the current snow. During the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted snow emergency streets. Alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect today on the even side for all other streets throughout the city in order to allow snow plow drivers’ clear passage. Alternate side parking will be in effect until further notice. Snow emergency streets are marked with white signs with red lettering. As a reminder, no parking is allowed on snow emergency streets. Commercial and/or residential owners who push snow into the streets or do not clear snow on the sidewalks in front of their buildings are subject to a $100.00 fine per ordinance for each incidence

Westport News: Man Turns In Weapons & Gets Charged

#Westport Connecticut–On 01/20/17, a friend of William Stenson brought multiple firearms and ammunition to the Westport Police Department to turn in for safe keeping. The firearms belong to Stenson. After the inventory and examination of the weapons,  ammunition, and magazines, one of the weapons was determined to be an assault weapon. The weapon has a telescoping (collapsible) stock, and a forward pistol grip. This type of weapon is restricted according to the Assault Weapon Ban. Stenson did not have this weapon registered nor did he possess a certificate to possess such assault weapon. Stenson was also in possession of a total of 13 high capacity magazines (magazines accommodating more than ten rounds of ammunition). A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for Stenson’s arrest. On 01/31/17, Westport Officers responded to Stenson’s address and took him into custody without incident.

Bridgeport News: Sacred Heart Party Time

1:00AMish–@SacredHeart–#Bridgeport Connecticut–#Fairfield Connecticut– Cops busy with parties at Sacred Heart University.  Three house parties with large crowds at Park and Old Town Road.  At the same time another one at 43 Heppenstall Drive.   Now a 16 year old girl intoxicated at Merton Hall.

Westport News: Bald Man Steals Hair Care Products

On 12/29/16, Westport Officers responded to CVS, 397 Post Road East for a larceny complaint. The Store manager stated that on 12/26/16, $582.50 worth of hair care products were stolen. Video surveillance captured the suspect, Luis Medina, walk directly to the hair care aisle and place items in his pockets (20 items in total). After doing so, he abruptly exits through the same doors he entered. Westport Detectives determined that a similar crime occurred in Darien, and Medina was arrested for the Darien larceny. Officers were able to positively identify Medina as the male committing the larceny in Westport. Median was interviewed and he admitted to the theft. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for his arrest.

Westport News: Fake License Used To Obtain UPS Packages

#Westport Connecticut–In October of 2016, suspect Leeroy Maragh fraudulently obtained packages being delivered to a Westport address by stopping the UPS driver and presenting a fake CT driver’s license identifying himself as the

homeowner / victim of this incident. The UPS driver found this strange so he took a photograph of the license. Westport Detectives were able to match this type of Identity Theft to similar crimes committed in Redding and Stratford. Detectives positively identified Maragh as the suspect because he was arrested in Redding for the same crime. Stratford also had a warrant for the same crime. Additionally, the victim of this incident identified Maragh from a photograph line up. Detectives processed Maragh at Norwalk Court this morning and he was arraigned today.

Crashes

11:30AMish–#Bridgeport Connecticut–#Fairfield CT– 2 crashes to report.  A car has hit a utility pole at East Main and East Washington Avenue.  In Fairfield a two car crash with airbags deployed on Kings Highway at New England Avenue.  No word on any injuries.
