Bridgeport News: Police Investigate Robbery At Subway

3:48pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a robbery at the Subway at 926 East Main Street.  Police are looking for a 6’3″ white male, brown hair, blue hoodie, and jeans.  He did not display a gun but one was seen on his waist.

#Fairfield CT–First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Town of Fairfield, in partnership with the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, will hold a Health and Fitness Expo at Fairfield University’s RecPlex on Sunday, March 11th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, now in its fourth year, brings together informational lectures, demonstrations, plus a wide variety of exhibitors concerning health, fitness, wellness and medical issues to attendees both young and old, including baby boomers. The event is free and open to the public and will be held, rain or shine, at the brand-new, state-of-the-art RecPlex at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Road. Attendees can park in the brand-new parking garage directly across from the RecPlex for free. Food trucks will be on site throughout the day to serve attendees beverages and food items of their choice. Bridgeport News: Stolen Car Tries To Run Over Police

Police UPDATE: Officer F. Ferrao and Recruit Officer D. Roberts were in the area of Jewett Avenue and Peet Street looking for a reported ‘suspicious’ white vehicle. The said Officers and Officer O. Elena approached the said vehicle (described only as a ‘White Challenger’ displaying Ct. Reg. 647-RWR/ Reported stolen out of Shelton, Ct.). They approached the sole occupant/operator of the said vehicle (Naquan Terrelle Clarke DOB 01/15/1996 – New York State Drivers License 772 550 436 – Suspended) and conducted an interview while Clarke was inside the vehicle/drivers side door open. During the interview, Clarke was grasping the vehicles fob and Officer Ferrao and Officer Elena attempted to pull him from the vehicle before he activated the vehicles button ignition. The ignition was activated and the car proceeded forward with the Officers ‘hanging on’. The Officers were dragged art least thirty feet before falling to the roadway. The vehicle continued eastbound on Jewett Avenue towards Main Street. Both Officers were injured and were transported to St. Vincent’s ER to be treated. Officer Ferrao and Officer Elena sustained deep contusions and bruising but no broken bones. PMA forms were completed by Sergeant Burns. Body Cam videos on both Officers detailed valuable investigative information on the incident.

 

UPDATE: The car did physically drag two Bridgeport Police Officers.

1:30pm–#Bridgeport CT– A stolen white Charger tried to run over police officers on Wayne Street as it fled towards Main Street.  One officer was injured on Jewett Street.

Fairfield News: Multiple Cars Hit On Merritt Parkway But Wrong Way Driver

11:00pm—#Fairfield CT–#cttraffic– A wrong-way driver has hit multiple vehicles on the Merritt Parkway northbound between exits 44 and 46.  There are multiple injuries reported including a head-on collision.

Norwalk News: Home Invasion Arrests

#Norwalk CT–On November 23, 2017, at 1:00am, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call from 7 Midwood Drive. The caller reported that several people had broken into the residence and had viciously assaulted one of the occupants. Patrol Officers arrived on scene and discovered a single male victim, suffering from numerous stab and slash wounds, however, the suspects had fled the scene. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Norwalk Hospital. Members of the Norwalk Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene. The investigation, led by Detective Brendan Collins, revealed that multiple masked assailants forced entry into the home. One of the assailants contacted the victim, who was in bed and a struggle ensued. The assailant(s) then began stabbing the victim, who fought back and believed he was able to injure one of the attackers. At this time, all of the suspects fled the residence. Members of the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence, discovering several items of evidentiary value both inside and outside of the home. Over the next several months, Detective Collins and other members of the Norwalk Detective Bureau conducted numerous interviews and canvasses that developed several additional leads and potential suspects. Based on Detective Collins investigation, arrest warrants were issued for three suspects, all of whom were arrested by Norwalk Detectives on February 9, 2018. Arrested: Luke Sweeney, 22 of 26 Ludlow Manor Norwalk Joseph Ponger, 23 of 23 Macintosh Road Norwalk Michael Maiorino, 4 Horton Street Norwalk Charges: Home Invasion, Assault 1 and Conspiracy Bond: $500,000.
