Stratford CT– Home Health Aid Charged

#Stratford CT–On 04-06- 2018 Nicole Passander age 32 of Ansonia was arrested for larceny 1 st . Passander who was a home health aid allegedly stole several rings from a woman in her care. The rings are valued at over $100,000 dollars. The investigation was initiated on 03-18- 2018 when the complainant reported the suspected theft. Ultimately a warrant was issued for Passander and she was taken into custody on 04-06- 2018. Passander posted a $30,000 dollar bond and she is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 04-13- 2018. Stratford News: Bigelow Tea Kicks Off National Public Health Week

STRATFORD, CT (March 19, 2018) – To celebrate National Public Health Week, the Stratford Health Department has partnered with the Stratford Library and Bigelow Tea to host The History and Health Benefits of Tea.  Bigelow Tea “Ambassador”  Betty Johnson engaged the audience in a rich discussion about the origins of tea, it’s powerful health benefits, and the many options available to consumers. The event was held on Tuesday, April 3rd . at the Stratford Library, located at 2203 Main Street.

National Public Health Week occurs the first week of April each year and highlights the powerful role public health plays in disease prevention and health promotion. This year’s theme, Healthiest Nation 2030: Changing our Future Together, hopes to engage individuals, families, and communities in actively spreading the message of health to create the healthiest nation.

 

Bridgeport News: Man Shot

2:00pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police finally locate a gunshot victim that was seen running in behind houses on William Street, then seen at Harriet Street but located at Arctic Street.  The man was shot in the hand, he said it happened at the Greenes then on the bridge heading to the Greens and now he doesn’t want to know anything about the police.  Police are searching for a crime scene.

Westport News: Woman Faces Multiple Charges

#Westport CT—At approximately 3:00pm on 04/08/2017, officers were dispatched to the Black Duck Café on a report of a woman who left a cab without paying her fare. The woman was back inside the cab upon the arrival of officers. Officers provided the woman a ride back to her vehicle, which was parked at Longshore and which she claimed contained her money. After locating her vehicle, officers observed it matched the suspect vehicle involved in the previous incident. Once at her vehicle, she became agitated, uncooperative and refused to provide her identification. While attempting to sit in her vehicle, the woman struck one of the officers with her car door. She was handcuffed and placed in the rear of a patrol car while officers searched for her identification. While officers were searching for the woman’s license, she began pushing on the windows of the patrol vehicle with her feet. The woman was ultimately identified as Jacqueline Bracht, 34, of Middletown, CT. She was transported to headquarters where she was charged with 53a-125b Larceny 6 th and 53a-167a Interfering with an Officer. Bracht was additionally charged with 14-222 Reckless Driving for the incident that took place earlier in the day. Bracht was initially held on a total of $1,500 bond. Her bonds were later lowered to Promise to Appears by the bail commissioner. Bracht is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 04/17/18.

Westport News: Pedestrian Struck

#Westport CT–On 04/08/2018, at approximately 1:30pm officers, were dispatched to Compo Beach on a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and leaving the scene. Upon arrival, officers learned a Parks and Recreation employee had been hanging signs on Soundview Drive when they observed the suspect vehicle traveling the wrong way on the one-way road towards her direction. At the same time, several other vehicles were attempting to exit Compo Beach and turn onto Soundview Drive. The employee instructed the vehicles exiting Compo Beach to stop and pull over in order to avoid an accident. When the employee attempted to stop the operator to inform her she was driving the wrong way, the vehicle initially stopped, but then accelerated and left as the employee approached the car. As the vehicle left, it struck the victim’s leg. The victim declined medical attention and was able to provide the investigating officer the registration number of the suspect vehicle.

Bridgeport News: Firefighters Respond To Two Alarms Of Fire

2:00pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters were called to a fire on the exterior of a home on Cottage Street which they quickly extinguished.  A few minutes later a call came in for a fire in the 1500 block of Iranistan Avenue which turned out to be quickly recalled and apparently nothing.
