2019-07-14 @ 8:00pm–#Trumbull CT– #Bridgeport CT– Bridgeport Police receive a call for a stabbing in Beardsley Park near the bridge. An extensive search turns up nothing but a victim was located in Trumbull off Quarry Road.
2019-07-14 @ 4:27pm– #Bridgeport CT– Firefighters were called for a water rescue behind the train station. A supposedly drunk man argued with his wife and then jumped into the water. The man got out of the water on his own prior to firefighters arrival.
2019-07-14 @ 2:29pm–#Bridgeport CT– There was a fire on the third floor of a large apartment complex at 50 Monroe Street. Firefighter’s quick response kept the fire contained to the one apartment. Deputy Fire Chief Ronald Rolfe said that the people in that apartment probably won’t be able to return to their apartment and that they are still assessing if everyone else can return to the other apartments. Animal Control was called for two rescued cats. There were no reported injuries.
2019-07-14 @12:45am–#Stratford CT– Report of a crash involving a motorcycle in front of Shoprite at 250 Barnum Avenue Cutoff. Expect delays in the area.
Police UPDATE: Police confirmed that two people were shot. One in the hip, and the other in the legs. Non life threatening injuries. One firearm recovered but no arrests were made.
2019-07-13 @ 11:29pm–#Bridgeport–Police received a call for a street fight in the 800 block of Kossuth Street (near Arctic Street). Updated reports said there were shots fired. Police were already on Pearl Street for a structure fire and were quickly on the scene and found two people shot. One went to the hospital by private vehicle and the second person was treated and transported by EMS. A firearm was recovered from the scene. The condition of the two victims is not known at this time.
2019-07-13 @ 11:00pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters called to the 200 block of Pearl Street for a possible structure fire, smoke reported on the 3rd floor. Firefighters arrive to find an odor of smoke and a burned resident. Firefighters investigate and find the fire was possibly on the outside of the structure and are taking care of it. If you parked blocking the hydrant at Kossuth and Berkshire the police have a surprise for you!
POLICE UPDATE: On Saturday July 13, 2019 at 9:57 pm, the Fairfield Police Dispatch Center received a call reporting a “Man Screaming for Help” in the area of Osborne Hill Road and Wormwood Road. Officers responded to the area to find a single vehicle motorcycle collision near 258 Osborne Hill Road. An initial investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Daniel Epstein of Fairfield, CT was operating a 1979 Honda CX-500C traveling west on Osborne Hill Road near Wormwood Road when he lost control of the motorcycle he was operating and left the roadway striking a stone wall. As a result of the collision, Epstein was found by officers down an embankment with a serious leg injury. Epstein was subsequently transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. This case is currently under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
2019-07-13 @ 10:04pm–#Fairfield CT– A resident on Osborne Hill Road near Wormwood Road called 911 to report he heard someone calling for help. Turned out to be a motorcyclist that went down an embankment. He possibly has a broken arm and femur.
2019-07-13 @ 8:01pm– #Bridgeport CT– A car hit 505 Jewett Avenue with no structural damage to the building. The driver complained of chest pains and was transported to the hospital. The car was being moved in the picture.
#Fairfield CT—On 07/13/2019 The Fairfield Police responded to a report of a sexual assault. The father of the juvenile victim reported to police that his daughter received an Uber ride from Stonewall lane in Fairfield. During the ride, the suspect, Dwaine Miller, allegedly made unwanted sexual contact with the juvenile female in addition to making overt sexual advances.
Dwaine Miller, 01/29/1988, of Kingsbury Road in Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault 3rd Degree and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior court on 7/26/2019.
Miller was later released after posting $5000.00 bond. Miller is a convicted felon with numerous arrests including robbery, assault and burglary.
