2020-01-01@10:11pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a shot spotter activation (Google it if you don’t know what that is) in the 800 block of Connecticut Avenue. Police pulled over a suspicious vehicle at Central and Ordinance Court and recover two firearms. Four were in the vehicle but no mention of how many were arrested.

On January 1, 2020 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Bridgeport Police Department contacted the Ansonia Police Department regarding a possible sighting of Vanessa Morales at Bridgeport Hospital. Ansonia Detectives responded to Bridgeport Hospital and reviewed surveillance video that showed a female child, which resembled Vanessa Morales with several other people. Detectives were able to identify and make contact with the people in the video. The child in the video was not Vanessa Morales.
The Ansonia Police Department continues to investigate the homicide of Christine Holloway and disappearance of Vanessa Holloway. We are following up on all information and leads received and encourage people to report any information they have regarding the investigation. UPDATE: Ansonia Police Lieutenant Lynch said: “We were not aware of the reported sighting until you posted it. We were not at Bridgeport Hospital earlier but we are now following up on the information you posted. Any new information will be posted at the appropriate time.”
UPDATE: Bridgeport Hospital Security called Bridgeport Police at 7:21pm that they have security video of a child matching Vanessa Morales with two women, on male and two other children around noon today. Police said it occurred at 10am today. I don’t know why they waited so long to call police. I have a call into Chief AJ Perez of the Bridgeport Police, Lieutenant Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department, Rowena White, communications czar for Bridgeport as well as Terron Jones, Bridgeport Police Spokesperson at 8:30pm. At 10:15pm I have not heard back from any of them. Today is a legal holiday.
Police sources have told me that the child was seen in Bridgeport Hospital around 10am this morning. Ansonia Police Detectives have been sent to Bridgeport Hospital to view the security video.
#Bridgeport CT– We are working on leads that the missing baby from Ansonia Vanessa Morales was sighted in Bridgeport this afternoon. I will keep you updated with any updates if any of these leads become credible or verification from police.
On January 1, 2020 at approximately 3:56 pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street. This was a two car motor vehicle crash involving a 50 year old Bridgeport man operating a red 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van and a 50 year old Bridgeport man operating a green 2006 Honda CRV.
The red Chrysler van was traveling westbound on Fairfield Avenue, at a high rate of speed, when it crossed the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street striking the green Honda CRV.
The red Chrysler van continued westbound, partially mounted the sidewalk in front of the Dunkin Donuts quick service restaurant (2550 Fairfield Avenue) and came to a stop. This collision caused the green Honda CRV to partially mount the sidewalk and come to a stop at the northwest corner of the intersection. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Bridgeport Fire Department and AMR Ambulance responded to the scene. Drivers of both vehicles were transported to Bridgeport Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to conduct further investigation.
The operator of the red Chrysler van is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the green Honda CRV is being treated for critical injuries.
Fairfield Avenue was opened for the normal flow of traffic at approximately 7:30 pm.
The operator of the Chrysler van has been identified as Bridgeport resident Keith Commerford D.O.B. 06/23/1969. Charges related to this incident are pending the outcome of the investigation.

2020-1-1@4:00PMish–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating a serious crash in front of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Fairfield Avenue near Scofield and Ellsworth Street. There was only the driver in the gray SUV who was transfered to the hospital, it is not known at this time injuries and the number of people inside the red van.
UPDATE: It happened at the corner store at Maplewood and Norman Street. The Norwalk resident was an innocent bystander going into the store with his sister who drove him to the hospital after he realized he was shot. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, shot in the thigh.
