Bridgeport News: Another Person Shot

On October 30, 2022, at approximately 4:20 am Bridgeport Police responded to the area of Harral Avenue and Highland Avenue on a ShotSpotter activation (7 rounds). ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the exact location of the gunfire. Upon arrival officers located a 26-year-old Bridgeport man in the 100 block of Highland Avenue suffering from an injury to the left side of his face and to his back. Medics were called to the scene and the victim was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was treated for cuts to his face and a gunshot wound (graze) to the back. All non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation. The victim is homeless and was sleeping inside his vehicle at the time of the incident. His vehicle was struck by gunfire numerous times. Several items were collected at the scene and turned in as evidence.

Ansonia News: Emmett O’Brien School Flooded

2022-10-29@10:50am–#Ansonia CT– Emmett O’Brien Technical School on Prindle Avenue suffered serious damage to the shop area, cafeteria, and multiple classrooms according to multiple radio reports. If your child attends there you may want to check to see if is open on Monday. Power and water to the school have been turned off and cleaning up is underway.

Bridgeport News: Homicide

#Bridgeport CT– On October 29, 2022, at approximately 4:15 am, Bridgeport Police responded to the 800 block of Atlantic Street on the report of a party stabbed at that location.  Upon police arrival, a 23-year-old Bridgeport man was found suffering from sharp force injuries to his torso.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died from those injuries.

The Detective Bureau took charge of the investigation and is currently processing the crime scene.  Atlantic Street remains closed between Iranistan Avenue and Barnum Dyke.  The road is expected to re-open late this morning.

Bridgeport Police are in the process of notifying next of kin.

Bridgeport News: Fire On Brooklawn Avenue

2022-10-28@11:59pm–#Bridgeport CT– #ctfire– Firefighters’ quick response to 600 Brooklawn Avenue kept a big fire in the rear of the building from extending to the rest of the structure. Everyone appeared to have made it out safely. One person was injured, it is unknown if it was a firefighter or an occupant.
