Joey, a local resident with special needs, had his world turned upside down when his beloved bicycle broke down. Riding his bike brought him immeasurable joy, and it was more than just a mode of transportation; it was his source of freedom and happiness.
Desperate to see a smile on Joey’s face once again, Joey’s family took to social media and posted a plea on Facebook for help in acquiring an adult tricycle to replace his broken bike.
Their post caught the attention of two exceptional individuals in the Fairfield community: Mr. Trez from Penfield Automotive and Mr. Bob Sussman from Fairfield Center Jewelry Store. Touched by Joey’s story and his passion for riding, these local heroes decided to step in and make a difference.

Fairfield News: 2 Purses Stolen
Fairfield Police was told that two purses were taken at the Planet Fitness on Villa Avenue.
If it weren’t for our viewers reporting shots fired and sending in this crime scene photo this probably would have gone unreported. After asking for more information ALL the media received a press release.
On September 12th, 2023, at 17:37 hours, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a ShotSpotter Activation alert in the vicinity of Park Street and Shelton Street. In response to this alert, the Bridgeport Police Department dispatched officers to the specified area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers reported the discovery of multiple shell casings at the intersection and proceeded to secure the area as a crime scene.
Approximately seven minutes after the ShotSpotter activations, Bridgeport Hospital reported a gunshot wound (GSW) victim who had arrived at the hospital independently. The patient’s level of cooperation with medical personnel and law enforcement has been limited; however, it has been confirmed that the patient is in stable condition. The individual sustained two GSWs to the hip, and fortunately, these injuries are assessed as non-life-threatening.
As of now, this incident remains an active and ongoing investigation, and authorities are working diligently to gather more information and identify those involved. Further details will be provided as they become available.
#Bridgeport CT– On September 9, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm Bridgeport Police responded to report(s) of a party shot in the face in the 300 block of Pacific Street. After arriving at the scene, Officers located a 16-year-old male inside the residence suffering from a single critical gunshot wound to his head. The 16-year-old victim was quickly transported to an area hospital where he was admitted into the intensive care unit.
Due to the injuries reported on September 9, 2023, the Detective Bureau’s Homicide Squad took charge of the investigation. They were assisted by Detectives from the Forensic Identification Unit. The Detective Bureau processed a crime scene on Pacific Street, interviewed witness(es), collecting evidence, and notified the family.
The preliminary investigation suggests a 16-year-old male, and 15-year-old female, were both handling a firearm inside a bedroom at the residence when it discharged causing a critical injury to the 16-year-old. He passed away on September 11, 2023. This was a tragic and isolated incident. The Police Department’s thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this young victim.

On September 12, 2023, at approximately 2:45 am Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation within the 100 block of Carleton Avenue. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 21-year-old Ansonia man lying face down in the street in front of 30 Carleton Avenue. The victim appeared to be suffering from a critical gunshot wound(s). Medics arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
A short time later, Officers observed a 30-year-old Bridgeport man lying down in a driveway located on the south side of 30 Carleton Avenue. This victim also appeared to be suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Medics transported the 30-year-old victim to an area hospital where he later died.
Patrol Officers secured the crime scene and notified the Detective Bureau (DB). The DB Homicide Squad has taken charge of the investigation. They are being assisted by Detectives from the Forensic Identification Unit. The Detective Bureau is currently in the process of interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, and notifying next of kin. The preliminary investigation suggests this was a mutual assault between the two deceased parties and is an isolated incident. Two firearms were recovered at the scene.
