Orange, CT (February 13, 2018): Connecticut State Troopers seize over one pound of marijuana, over one half kilogram of powder cocaine and approximately $2500.00 in cash during a motor vehicle stop. On February 13, 2018 at approximately 12:30 a.m., troopers from Troop G-Bridgeport were conducting motor vehicle enforcement when they observed a 2004 Acura TSX conduct a motor vehicle violation. Troopers stopped the Acura on Route 114 near New Haven Ave. in Orange. Upon speaking with the Acura occupants, troopers immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle and determined that marijuana may still be contained in the vehicle. Troopers initiated an investigation and with the assistance of State Police narcotic detection dog, K9 Silver, troopers located and seized over one pound of marijuana, over one-half kilogram of powder cocaine and approximately $2500.00 in cash. Both the operator, Jocelyn Serrano-Rivera and passenger, Jonathan Brito, were taken into custody and transported to Troop G. Jocelyn Nyas Serrano-Rivera (4/27/1997) of 280 Gilbert St., Hamden was charged with Conspiracy to commit Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Sell (WITS), Possession of Cocaine WITS within 1500 Feet of a School/Daycare, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana WITS within 1500 feet of a School, Possession of Marijuana, two counts of Possession of Untaxed Marijuana/controlled substance and Speeding. Serrano-Rivera was held on $150,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on February 13, 2018. Jonathan Brito (dob 9/21/1993) of 10 Summit St., Derby was charged with Conspiracy to commit Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Sell (WITS), Possession of Cocaine WITS within 1500 Feet of a School/Daycare, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana WITS within 1500 feet of a School, Possession of Marijuana and two counts of Possession of Untaxed Marijuana/controlled substance. Brito was held on $250,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on February 13, 2018.

Drugs-Gun Netted In I-95 Traffic Stop

On February 4, 2018 at approximately 11:49 p.m., troopers from Troop G -Bridgeport were patrolling I-95 in Darien when they observed a vehicle, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, commit a motor vehicle violation.

Upon stopping the Hyundai in the Darien Rest Area and speaking with occupants, troopers determined that there were possibly illegal narcotics contained in the vehicle. Troopers initiated an investigation and through the course of the investigation troopers searched the Hyundai.

With the aid of a narcotic detection K9, troopers located “crack” cocaine, raw heroin and drug paraphernalia. Troopers also discovered two handguns and later determined that both the operator and passenger are convicted felons.

Stamford and Darien Police Departments also assisted with the investigation.

The operator, Sarah Allen (dob 1/31/90) of Maine was taken into custody and transported to Troop G where she was charged with numerous charges including Conspiracy to Commit Weapons in a Motor Vehicle (2 counts),  Illegal Transfer of a Firearm (2 counts), Carrying a Pistol without a Permit (2 counts) Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), Criminal Possession of Ammunition (2 counts), Possession of Crack With Intent to Sell (WITS), Possession of Heroin, Unsafe Lane Change and Following too Closely.  Allen was held on $150,000.00 bond and scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on February 5, 2018.

The passenger, William Page (dob 7/16/88) of Maine was also taken into custody and transported to Troop G where he was charged with numerous charges including Conspiracy to Commit Weapons in a Motor Vehicle (2 counts),  Illegal Transfer of a Firearm (2 counts), Carrying a Pistol without a Permit (2 counts) Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), Criminal Possession of Ammunition (2 counts), Possession of Crack With Intent to Sell (WITS) and Possession of Heroin.

 

Pursuit

State Police UPDATE:

On February 7, 2018 at approximately 00:26 a.m., troopers from Troop G – Bridgeport were conducting speed enforcement on I-95 southbound in the area of exit 40, Milford when they observed a black Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted to stop the Honda; however the operator increased speed and engaged troopers in pursuit. Troop G dispatch notified troopers that the Honda was reported stolen out of Ansonia.

The Honda continued to traveling south on I-95, at times in excess of 120mph, before the operator eventually lost control on the exit 27A off-ramp in Bridgeport and struck the left side barrier. Two male occupants fled on foot from the Honda, while two female occupants remained inside the vehicle. Both males jumped over the guardrail and ran down the embankment toward Prospect Street in Bridgeport.

Troopers engaged in foot pursuit before one of the males, Quientan Brown, was apprehended by State Police K9 Silver and taken into custody. A few minutes later the second male, a juvenile, was located by troopers and Bridgeport police nearby on Prospect Street, and taken into custody. The female occupants were not charged and were released at the scene.

Quientan Brown (dob 5/25/90) of 798 Howard Ave., Bridgeport, was transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital for injuries resulting from the K9 apprehension. Brown was charged with Interfering with an Officer and was released on a $5,000.00 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Milford Superior Court on February 20, 2018.

The juvenile male admitted to operating the Honda, and was transported to Troop G where he was charged Larceny 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Engaging Police in a Pursuit, Reckless Driving, Evading Responsibility, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License, Failure to Maintain Lane and Interfering with an Officer. The juvenile was released on a $10,000.00 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at the Bridgeport Juvenile Court on February 14, 2018.

 

12:27am–#cttraffic–Police are in pursuit of a black 2007 Honda Accord I-95 southbound in Milford heading towards Bridgeport quickly.  Speeds are exceeding 110mph.
