Police are investigating an incident in which a Stratford woman was shot in the leg late Tuesday.
The 22-year-old woman told police she was carjacked, forced to drive around and then brought into Beardsley Park, where she was assaulted by two males.
The victim stated that she was at a gas station on Huntington Turnpike, at about 10:45 PM when two black males approached her. One got into the back seat of her vehicle, put a gun to her head and ordered her to drive, she stated. They ended up at Beverly Place near East Main Street. The second suspect then also appeared on Beverly Place. It remains unclear how he got there because he wasn’t in her car and she didn’t see a vehicle following them, the victim told police.  The two men forced her to walk on Beverly into Beardsley Park where they allegedly attempted to sexually assault her, she stated. She resisted and she was assaulted and shot, she said.
A passerby saw her emerge from the park and contacted authorities. She was taken to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. Her injury was not life threatening.
An extensive, hours-long search for the suspects was conducted in the park with the assistance of the State Police and neighboring police departments.
Detectives continue to work to corroborate the woman’s account and are checking video security systems at area businesses.

12:46pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police on scene at East Main and Burroughs Street  for two women fighting on a city bus.  Windows on the bus damaged during the fight.

12:33pm–#Bridgeport CT–First responders on the way to Lenox Avenue for a 15 year old that was hit by a car, possible broken leg.

Last seen at Marshalls 700 Post Rd. Fairfield at 9 pm 7/9/13

Fairfield Police received a report of two missing juveniles during the early morning hours of July 10, 2013 after the parents reported the girls were dropped off at Marshall’s 700 Post Rd. by their father to meet with their mother at approx. 9 p.m. on July 9, 2013.

After meeting their mother they were told to return home with their father but they missed their ride.

As of 1000 a.m. this morning they have not returned home to 407 East Avenue in Bridgeport.

3:04am–#Norwalk CT–EMS on scene at Maple Street for a man who fell into a glass table, is unconscious and has deep lacerations.

2:37am–#Stratford CT–Possible structure fire at 56 McQuillan Street.  Firefighters on the way.  I’ll keep you posted….you had to go to the bathroom anyways right?  UPDATE–Garbage can on fire outside of the house…now out. Go back to sleep!

12:50am–#Bridgeport CT–A quick trip to the CVS at 1370 Main Street got pretty expensive as a motorist jumped the sidewalk and crashed into the stone wall into the all night pharmacy.  The driver did not appear to be hurt but shaken up as EMS left without a patient.
