10:25pm–#Ansonia CT–Firefighters on scene on Grove Street in front of the cemetery looking for a fire that was supposedly in the street.  Firefighters do not see any fire……

8:25pm–#Bridgeport CT–Report of a man shot in the chest on 541 Garfield Avenue.  Shooting suspect is a slim male in his teens who fled in a blue Yamaha Scooter.

7:25pm–#Bridgeport CT–If you hear a bunch of fire trucks on Main near Goldenrod Avenue there was are report of structure fire on Main near the CVS but find nothing.  The continue investigating.

7:24pm–#Monroe CT–EMS on the way to Purdy Hill Road for a pedestrian hit by a golf cart……

7:15pm–#Fairfield CT #Westport CT #cttraffic–Route 15 Merritt Parkway southbound near exit 42 State Police getting numerous reports of a rollover accident with possible ejection.  First responders on the way.

7:13pm–#Monroe CT–#cttraffic–Report of a car accident with injuries on Route 25 in front of Roberto’s Restaurant 505 Main St.  Report of injuries.

Mayor Bill Finch swore in the Fire Department’s newest captain this week.

Frank Falanga, 58, is a 25-year veteran of the department. Until his promotion, he was assigned to Engine 6 on Central Avenue. He now is assigned to Fire Headquarters as a safety officer.

“Frank is a fine fire officer and the promotion is well deserved,” said Fire Chief Brian Rooney. “We’ve had some high-caliber firefighters take the next step in their careers recently. Graduations and promotional ceremonies are always good days in the fire service.”
Falanga’s promotion brought the department to a full complement of 17 captains. The city recently administered an exam for fire lieutenant.

Last month, five fire officers advanced in rank: Michael Caldaroni was sworn in as a battalion chief and Scott Foss,  Jeffrey Cronin, Frank Bridge and Kevin Shevlin were promoted to the rank of captain.
