Train collision in Bridgeport

Video Report of train crash in Bridgeort–
5:54pm–#Bridgeport CT–Fairfield firefighters received call of a train derailment near the Metro Station with smoke inside the cars. The crash happened in Bridgeport on Commerce Drive closer to the McDonalds under the I-95 underpass. Reported hospital injuries are twenty injuries at St. Vincent’s Hospital with one critical, twenty six injuries, 2 critical. Amtrack has confirmed suspension of trains. Photos in our video show that the tracks were split. We have also reported in the past on nightly work in the area on the tracks. Mutual aid from Westport, Norwalk, Easton and Trumbull and security from Fairfield University. Commerce Drive is closed from Dewey Street in Bridgeport to Brentwood Avenue in Fairfield. Both trains are the new M-8 railcars. The tracks cannot be repaired until the investigation of the collision is completed. Expect big delays on Monday.

#Bridgeport CT–On April 30th Corey Gordon Jr. Was struck by a hit and run driver. The 2 year old has been in Yales ICU since that time and undergone serious procedures. Police Investigate Body Found In Trumbull

Video Report–Police Investigate Body Found In Trumbull MAY be ECSU missing student.

#Trumbull CT–#ECSU–State police are on scene  at the dead end section of Quarry Road where a body has been found.  The media presence was as heavy as the police presence where we were tipped it may be the missing Eastern Connecticut State University Student Alyssiah Marie Wiley.  State Police spokesperson Lieutenant Paul Vance would not confirm who the victim was no the sex of the victim.  Vance said they were searching the area with cadaver dogs when they found the remains.  He said the remains need to be identified using DNA testing and the first of kin have to be notified first before any identification will be released to the media.  Yesterday police searched Bunnell Pond at Beardsley Park but found nothing.  Bow Tie Cinemas is located on Quarry Road, about 100 yards from the crime scene.   The State Police Major Crime Squad is handling the case.

Fire in Greenfield Hills in Fairfield

Video Report–#Fairfield CT–Around 11pm Thursday night an electrical circuit blew at 61 Twin Lanes Road in Fairfield. The residents did like most of would and reset the circuit. The circuit did reset but something must have malfunctioned when the residents called Fairfield Emergency Communications of a fire in the attic. Ladder was first on scene and reported heavy smoke in the rear of the attic. I arrived as the second fire truck arrived on scene and have some incredible views of the Fairfield Fire Department spring into action. It appears that the firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the attic. Bridgeport and Westport provided mutual aid to the town. Southport Fire Department lit the scene up like a movie set. All residents evacuated the home without injury. A mother and child from the home were taken by EMS just to keep both warm. Firefighters ventilated the roof and a majority of the firefighter departed the area around 3am. There were no reported injuries to the heros at this time.
