2 Dorm Fires at Sacred Heart University

Approximately at 5:45pm Friday evening a power surge caused two dorm fires at Sacred Heart University. Firefighters were called to the J-Lot area of the Scholars Common to the smell of smoke from and electrical box. A recall to the fire was called within fifteen minutes but when Assistant Fire Chief George Gamola took command of the scene it was determined that the surges and fires affected another dorm building and the fire apparatus was quickly called back to the scene Firefighters remained on scene past 8pm. It is uncertain if weather conditions played a role in the power surges. Shortly after 8:30pm Bridgeport Firefighters responded to false alarm at 5242 Building B Residence Hall.

2:33am–#Bridgeport–A stabbing just occurred at Wendy’s on Fairfield Avenue.
1:20am–#Bridgeport–Driver falls asleep at the wheel rolls his car on it’s side int a parked car on Thorme Street. Driver is ok.
Fairfield—Missing Child—Tomlinson Middle School Student who did not show up to school as scheduled today: 13 year old white male, 5’6” 140 lbs curly dyed red hair blue eyes unknown clothing description. He was last seen 8am this morning at the bus stop on Grasmere Avenue. Please call Fairfield Police if you see this child at 203-254-4800 or 911.
11:59pm–#Ridgefield–Police Officer chases down suspects and has one in custody looking for another. They are in the vicinity of the Mobil Gas Station near Grove Street. One officer has a broken finger in the pursuit/take down. One still at large, canine on scene.
1:14am–Fairfield #–General Electric World Headquarters Security has 4 trespassers in custody requesting police . I went on location for video but the patrol cars were deep into the premises so no video. Not sure if this is connected with the Occupy Wall Street movement, UPDATE From Fairfield Police–The four males were students from SHU and they were looking for a good hill to skate board. They were warned and removed from the property.
No apparent connection to a civil movement.
9:48pm–#Bridgeport #Stratford–Bridgeport Fire Boat One spots two dirt bikes on Pleasure Beach, Stratford. Police notified.
5:44pm–#Fairfield–Police have received two reports of a black male and black female arguing and having a physical altercation, the man forced the woman into his white four door sedan and took off down Riverside Drive.
4:02ppm–#Bridgeport– Fire department on scene of ANOTHER car accident at Barnum and Hallett Street. That’s 2 in 2 days, last week a police car was involved in one at the same location.
3:59–#Fairfield–Report of a small mulch fire in front of the UPS Store on the Post Road.
