Mary-Jane Foster spot on Democratic ballot denied by Registrar

Denied Ballot For Mayor By Registrar

Mary-Jane Foster’s spot on the Democratic ballot for Mayor of Bridgeport was denied by Registrar Santa Ayala because she says she had one too many nominees by Foster’s team of school board candidates.  Registrar Santa Ayala was the center of controversy during the elections in November when the city ran out of voting ballots and the city was allowed extra hours to vote.  Mayor Finch was quoted in the Connecticut Post “”I am very disappointed this has happened,” Finch said in a statement Monday evening. “I believe in and support the democratic process, and it is my hope that the voters will have their say in determining who will go forward to the general election.”
