2:47am–#Bridgeport CT–Police working with leads from Department of Children and Families locate a homeless man with his 4 year old child on Main Street near Thompson Street. They were located after pinging the man’s cellphone. EMS dispatched to check out the child. I’m happy to report from radio reports that police are treating the man with dignity and respect. The homeless man was fearful of losing his child if located. Please pray for a positive, loving outcome in this situation.

Bridgeport Fire Promotes Six
Friends, family members and fellow firefighters gathered in City Hall’s Council Chambers tonight to celebrate the promotion of six members of the Bridgeport Fire Department.
Mayor Bill Finch and Fire Chief Brian Rooney swore in Giovanni Sanzo and Robert Marrero to Fire Inspector; Samuel Mohammad and Joel Christy to Lieutenant; Montique Pettway-Moore and Venus Scudder to Pumper Engineer.
“In Bridgeport, our first responders work hard every day to protect the kids and families of Bridgeport,” said Mayor Finch. “Congratulations to the firefighters for their hard work and efforts in making Bridgeport safer every day.”
The Bridgeport Fire Department has been recognized as a national leader in installing fire alarms in the homes of Bridgeport residents. Through its Safe Asleep program, in partnership with RYASAP, nearly 50,000 smoke alarms have been installed in Bridgeport homes.
Bridgeport News: 2 Crashes
UPDATE: Police were initially dispatched for a person who allegedly took pills in a suicide attempt. This person then took off in his car causing these accidents. He came to a stop after crashing at North Bishop Avenue. An off duty Norwalk Police Officer kept the man on scene.
7:54pm–#Bridgeport CT–There are two crashes to report, both with injuries. The first one is Boston and Success Avenue where two ambulances have been requested to the scene. A second crash is just down North Bishop Avenue. Uncertain if they are related. Avoid the area.

Daniel Ferreira (DOB 11/07/1971) was arrested for three counts of Possession of Narcotics, CGS. 21a- 279(a), Possession of Narcotics With the Intent to Sell, CGS. 21a-277(a), Failure to Display a Front Registration Plate, CGS. 14-21b(c), Misuse of Plates, CSG. 14-147c, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, CGS. 14-213b, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, CGS. 14-12(a)*, and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle, CGS. 53a-213, after a motor vehicle stop was conducted for an equipment violation.
On May 20th, 2015 at 0106 hrs. Fairfield Police observed a black BMW 528i, bearing CT reg. 472RYR, traveling northbound on Querida Street without a front registration plate displayed. a motor vehicle stop and a DMV check on CT reg. 472RYR revealed no record found. The vehicle was not registered. The lone driver identified as Ferreira had a ban open beer bottle in between his legs. He admitted to drinking and driving without a registration and insurance. The male was identified as Daniel Ferreira by his Connecticut operator license. While checking Ferreira a folding knife and a baggy containing a white powdery substance were in his pants pocket. Within the vehicle a hidden compartment revealed a large amount of cash and multiple bags of pills identified as oxycodone. The pills were found within a cigarette box inside the hidden compartment within the cars dashboard.
Daniel was placed under arrest for three counts of Possession of Narcotics, CGS. 21a-279(a), Possession of Narcotics With the Intent to Sell, CGS. 21a-277(a), Failure to Display a Front Registration Plate, CGS. 14-21b(c), Misuse of Plates, CSG. 14-147c, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, CGS. 14-213b, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, CGS. 14-12(a)*, and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle, CGS. 53a-213. Daniel was issued a Misdemeanor Summons (MC166762) for the motor vehicle and drinking charges. Daniel was released on a PTA for those charges. Daniel was released on a $250 cash bond for the drug charges. The vehicle was towed to headquarters. Daniel is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court, 172 Golden Hill street, on June 1st, 2015 at 0900 hrs.
