2:59pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police are pursuing a stolen vehicle starting in the Hollow to Park Avenue. They just tossed something out the window at Park and Benham Avenue. Heading towards Maplewood/Howard Avenue. The pursuit then went down North Avenue when they turned down Brooklawn Avenue. The crashed, hitting the curbing just before Hughes/Villa Avenue. Fairfield Police assisted in the manhunt and Stratford Police sent their K-9. Police quickly apprehended two of the suspects. A third hid in a basement on Laurel Place. An alert police officer spotted the open basement door where he found the suspect. The woman of the house had just put a load of laundry in the basement moments before hand. Police took the man into custody. Police told me the suspect was unknowingly laying next to a BB gun rifle that belonged to the homeowner. Police took him into custody without incident. All suspects wanted were taken into custody.

2:50pm–#Bridgeport CT–Multiple reports of shots fired in the Highland Avenue area. One report says the shots were fired at a gold BMW. So far no reports of anyone or anything hit. Police are on scene investigating.
2:20pm–#Bridgeport CT–A person is reporting to police that their wallet was taken from their shopping car while shopping at BJ’s. How many times have we heard Lieutenant Perez from the Fairfield Police warn us not to leave your personal belongings unattended in a shopping cart! UPDATE: Police say it is the homeless man that carries the sign saying he cannot speak. The man is capable of speaking. He is a white male, bald, wearing a blue fleece jacket with orange trim. He was last seen walking towards Bridgeport.
Our city’s fifth homicide of the year occurred yesterday at just after 3 p.m. The victim, 57-year-old Jose Salgado and his wife were working in their store, Sapiao’s Grocery at 351 Lexington Ave, when two men came in to rob them, both armed with handguns. They demanded the money and when Jose went to hand the money over, one of the suspects shot him. Jose was taken to St Vincent’s Medical Center but died at 3:46 p.m.
The suspects approached the store on foot from Linen Ave. Video evidence shows them walking east on Linen Ave toward the store. One minute later, they are seen running west on Linen Ave, back in the direction they had come from. According to several witnesses, they entered a bright green 4-door vehicle and fled west on Linen Ave. the vehicle is believed to be a kiwi-colored Ford Focus. They were last seen traveling north on James St. According to witnesses, a third person was in the vehicle and waited in the passenger’s seat.
The first suspect is described as a black male, about 5’9”, medium build, in his 30’s. He was the driver. His face was partially covered by a mask. The second suspect is a white or Hispanic male, 5’6” or 5’7”, also in his 30’s. He had long hair. He did not wear a mask.

1:01am–#cttraffic–#Stratford CT–An accident between a car and motorcycle with injuries reported on in front of the Riverview Bistro at 946 Ferry Boulevard Route 130. Roadway does NOT appear to be closed at this time
12:40am–#cttraffic–#Shelton CT–There is a rollover accident at 1017 Howe Avenue Levenworth Road area with entrapment confirmed by firefighters just arriving on scene. There is also a large tree blocking the road on the downtown side of the road. Avoid the area, first responders are reporting very heavy traffic in the area.
UPDATE: Sad to report a person has died in this crash.
