Meteorologist Commuted From Albany To Connecticut

News12’s newest meteorologist Steve Teeling was a meteorologist at News10ABC in Albany for the last ten years and commuted back to Connecticut on weekends to be with family.

I don’t normally research meteorologists past employment of meteorologists, but after watching one forecast I knew this wasn’t his first forecast.  He is really good!  As you watch the embedded video you can see a fun side that hasn’t been seen on News12, yet.  I hope they let him do his thing, he’s worth watching!

Bridgeport News: Steel Point Bonding

This week, the State Bond Commission announced that it is scheduled to approve $9 million to assist the waterfront development at its next meeting on Monday, May 11, 2015 .

In response, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch made the following statement:

“This is great news. After decades of broken promises, we’re seeing tremendous progress on construction at this major waterfront development project. It will serve as a major boon for our city’s economy with Starbucks, Chipotle, and Bass Pro Shops already announced. These businesses and others will create good paying jobs, add millions to our tax rolls, and help our city to continue getting better every day. Thanks to Governor Malloy, Bridgeport’s legislative delegation, and the State Bond Commission for their continued support of Bridgeport’s biggest economic development project since the Industrial Revolution.”

Fairfield News: House Fire

10:40am–#Fairfield CT–A homeowner do it yourself project almost cost him his home at 563 Jennings Road.  The homeowner was trying to cut open his oil tank with a gas powered saw which ignited the oil inside the tank.  The house quickly filled with smoke.  The homeowner then ran across the street to the fire department to summon help.  Firefighters were obviously quick on the scene and were able to quickly put out the flames keeping the fire confined to the oil tank.   The homeowner suffered minor smoke inhalation and refused medical treatment.  Firefighters also ventilated the home of the smoke.  Firefighters also responded to a fire alarm at Ludlowe High School at the same time.

Fairfield News: Odor Investigation Ludlowe HS

10:40am–#Fairfield CT–Firefighters on the scene at Ludlowe High School at 785 Unquowa Road for an activated fire alarm.  Firefighters discover an odor of rubber burning in the Graphics Room 15. No further radio updates.  Firefighters were dispatched there a few months ago which turned out to be an issue with the ventilation system.  The burning rubber can be a belt on the ventilation system once again.

The building did not appear to be evacuated when I arrived.  Firefighters were also on Jennings Road for fire.
