Westport Railroad Parking Permit & Wait List Announcements
The Westport Police Department Railroad Parking Division announces the following changes in the parking permit process. The railroad permit waiting list is now available online. Those on the waiting list are required to
update their information annually each January. Reminders will be sent out by email to update their information. Anyone who fails to update their information will be removed from the waiting list. Keeping the list current and accurate streamlines the permit issuance process by eliminating emails and letters to people who no longer want a permit. In addition, those on the wait list will be able to see where they are on the list. An account number is required to access the list, and this number will either be emailed or sent via regular mail to all those on the current list.
During the permit renewal period in May 2015, permit holders will now have the option of choosing between two different permits. The single permit/single vehicle permit is available at $325 annually. Permit holders will now be able to purchase a permit for $450 allowing them to use their permit between two different cars, offering more flexibility for permit holders who need it over the life of the permit. The following restrictions apply to the two-vehicle permit: both vehicles listed to the permit must be registered to the same family at the same address and the permit can only be used on one vehicle at a time. Any alterations, duplications or misuse of the permit will result in the revocation of the permit. Railroad Parking regulations still provide for temporary permits for any permit holder whose vehicle is in a repair shop for short-term periods for a $5 fee.
Permit renewals (during renewal periods) and wait list access can be done online by selecting the appropriate option at www.buymypermit.com/westport.
