RT@ RONBUTZJR–Trumbull PD has a chase in progress now into Bridgeport. Boston ave area. We also heard a call from EMTs to treat an officer for arm laceration on Boston and Hale Terrace

1:40am–#Southport–Mother and son on John Street have a physical fight and police respond.  Son stole mother’s car but found near the train station in Southport.  Son takes off towards the train track in the area; police are searching the area and had MTA stop the on coming trains.  Police are still searching for him on the tracks.  UPDATE--The son is 26 years old from West Haven.  He has criminal history in Connecticut and California  and Florida. 1:55am UPDATE— Police catch him back at John Street.

 

 12:47am–Fairfield–Accident on I-95 northbound near exit 21 Mill Plain Road Exit. State Police report two from the car ran from the scene down the embankment to the Mill Plain Road area.  UPDATE–Fairfield Police capture both parties than ran from the one car accident on I-95 to the Mill Plain Road area.

‎11:30pm–#Bridgeport–Girlfri​end stabs boyfriends at 1525 Central Avenue.  11:40pm–UPDATE–Police request fire department’s assistance to gain entry to this apartment on the third floor.  UPDATE–11:52–#Bridgeport–Police having their hands full with the woman who stabbed her boyfriend at 1525 Central Ave.  Fire department gains entry, leaves and requested back.  3rd ambulance requested to help EMTs on scene. 12:09AM–Girlfriend finally contained and transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital.  Unknown if injured or reason for hospital care.   UPDATE–12:17am–Not quite, EMTs requesting Police to the ambulance for assistance.  Alcohol may be a factor……

10:20pm–#Fairfield–EMTs on the way to a Marlborough Terrace home where a woman was found bleeding and unconscious on the kitchen floor.  We will keep you posted with any updates.   UPDATE—Police tell us this morning that “There was no sign of foul play and the patient was transported to Bridgeport Hospital by AMR”.

6:18pm–#Fairfield-Possible stolen car?  Woman calls Fairfield Police, they help her realize it’s not stolen but she parked it in the Stamford train station.

10:11pm–#Fairfield–Fairfield Police search unsuccessfully for a white BMW that drove off with the gasoline pump nozzle still attached to their car from the Shell Station on Post Road.

Jennings Beach Rescue

A report was received at 7:49 this morning regarding the possible drowning at Jennings
Beach 1000 S. Benson Road Fairfield, CT. Citizen’s saw an elderly female swimming off
shore go under water and appeared to be in distress. The citizen’s alerted DPW workers who
were in the area and they pulled the woman ashore.

A registered nurse and wife of a retired LT of the Fairfield Police Department was on
scene. She immediately started CPR until the arrival of Officer Demotses, who is also a
member of the Fairfield Police Dive Team, along with Officer John Moran. They continued life
saving efforts and reported the details back to assisting officers, Fire and AMR personnel.

The patient is a 77 year old woman and she was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and
is listed in serious condition. She is a resident of Bridgeport, CT and her immediate family has
been notified by Police.

RESCUE FROM SACRED HEART ROOF

FAIRFIELD, CT, July 12, 2011: At 8:11am this morning the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a report of a 20-year-old male construction worker on the roof suffering a reaction from a bee sting; Fire Department Engines 2 and 3, Ladder 2 and Car 3 were dispatched along with Police and American Medical Response. Engine 3 arrived and was met by Sacred Heart University security personnel who directed them to a mechanical room on the roof where the worker was located.

Company 3 and AMR personnel initiated medical care to the patient, while Company 2 began setting up a ladder operation to pick the patient off the rood using a stokes basket and strap system. The patient was packaged into the basket, after which the patient with a firefighter maintaining care were lowered from the roof to the ground. Fire and AMR personnel transferred the patient to a stretcher for transport to St. Vincent’s Hospital by AMR; Car 3 and Engine 3 were the last Fire Department units to clear at 9:08am

2011 Bridgeport Arts Fest

Arts Fest 2011 Saturday at noon McLeavy Green.

The City of Bridgeport is pleased to announce the second annual Bridgeport Arts Fest! Taking place on Saturday July 16 from Noon to 6pm, the Arts Fest is a gathering of over 60 local artists, crafters and performers on historic McLevy Green in downtown Bridgeport.

The Arts Fest features gallery quality fine art and a vast array of crafts, handmade accessories, clothing, jewelry, books and other household and wearable items. You will only find original things made by original people! There is also live music, dance and stage performances, children’s activities and interactive experiences.

2:23pm–#Bridgeport–A one year old Madison Avenue child is being treated after accidentally drinking bleach.

1:14am–Shots fired in Bridgeport –Fairfield near Orland Street Hispanic Female short medium build in her 30s wearing a white shirt.    She should be in a red Ford pickup possibly Maryland plates.  She is with a four year old boy   Last seen in the area of BJ’s on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield.  UPDATE–1:25am–#Bridgeport–Bridgepo​ rt Police confirm the woman they are looking in the red pick up for shots fired– they have the vehicle stopped near on Fairfield Ave. near the Fairfield line.

4:08pm-#Bridgeport–Report of a child struck by a car at Garden Street and Park Ave. I just came from that area and it is still packed with parade goers and lots of traffic.
