Hey! Fairfield has no reason not to give police a contract now!
A Stamford Superior Court judge entered a $2.88 million judgment today in favor of the Town of Fairfield against an investment firm that had placed the Town’s retirement funds with Bernard Madoff. Fairfield Police have been without a contract for over two years. Maybe the RTM can pass their contract this week. Fairfield has a track record of being anti-union dragging its feet on the firefighters and even the nurses contract. Oh yea, this is an editorial.
Shots fired- Bridgeport teen arrested
Police investigating a report of shots fired Thursday arrested a 19-year-old with a loaded gun.
At about 3 p.m. Thursday, Officers Anthony Caiazzo and Alfred Cesar were on patrol in the area of Bassick High School when they heard four or five gunshots. They heard from a witness that after the loud bangs a man in a black hooded sweatshirt ran down Colorado Street.
They also learned from a Bassick security guard that the shots happened in the area of Wentfield Park. As they checked the area, they observed a Pontiac Grand Prix occupied by three males with a fourth standing at the driver’s window.
When the fourth man saw police, he walked off briskly. He didn’t get far.
Officer Keith Hanson and Sgt. Paul Grech, who were heading to back up the other officers, detained the man, later identified as Devonne Anthony Scott, of 575 Maple St.
He was questioned by the officers and stated that he was on special parole for a robbery conviction. He bent over to show the officers his ankle bracelet and when he did the officers observed the breast pocket on his jacket sagging heavily.
Police recovered a loaded 9mm pistol with 15 live rounds in the magazine.
Scott was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and altering the serial number or a firearm.
Assaulted at the talent show
8:37pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police are investigating an assault that allegedly took place Achievement First School at 655 Stillman St during a talent show. The victim went home on Pembroke Street and called police.
Car accident with one fleeing the scene

I-95 northbound Moses Wheeler Bridge accident
6:38pm–#Stratford CT #cttraffic–A northbound accident on I-95 is slowing traffic in the center lane. No injuries reported but a fluid spill is reported possibly extending the clean up.
